  Very unclean, not as pictures online show!

  If I could rate this hotel 0 stars I would as 1 star is too many for this terrible hotel. Although staff were polite, they were not helpful or apologetic to our room having a foul smell of mould/damp and being very unclean. The pictures online did not reflect the room we were given. After we complained we were told it was full so we couldn’t even swap rooms. However, for the final night there were other rooms available and on viewing they were exactly the same standard as ours! I have never complained at a hotel before but this one was disgusting. Absolutely appalling. Do not believe the reviews which state this hotel is clean, as it isn’t. Pictures attached show the real hotel!! The location is 30 minutes walk to the centre which is not too bad. Hotel is very noisy, you can hear people in other rooms just talking with low tone voices and the cleaner starts cleaning rooms at 7am some days. Value for money is poor, so not recommend. The whole hotel is shabby and needs a complete renovation

  A very solid European city hotel…and any American guests need to understand what that means…

  Excellent location just outside the ZTL. Very limited paid parking with a tight and steep entry…be sure you have a smaller car and a confident driver. Clean rooms and public spaces, a mini-fridge and air conditioning in each room. Three floors plus an attic room, and it’s stairs all the way. Rooms are not huge, and bathrooms are tight, as expected at this type of hotel, but the staff are friendly and helpful. Multiple places to eat nearby, and the multiple bus stops within 5 minutes make getting about Florence a breeze.Now, why did I title this about Americans needing to know what to expect, well, because this isn’t a Holiday Inn. European customers already know about the stairs, the limited facilities and the meaning of “air conditioning” (which, in Europe means a fair chance of holding about 25°C or so in the summer, not ice cold during a heat wave). Be sure to have a plan if you drive here, we arranged a space months ahead of time, otherwise there is possible paid street parking, if spots are open and the meter is paid…and I haven’t checked the maximum stay period.

  Lovely staff with a rustic hotel

  Lovely little rustic old hotel with an amazing painted ceiling in our room. Owner and staff amazing producing a map with lots of information of local places to get breakfast (they do not provide breakfast but in your room is complimentary water, biscuits, coffee sadly no milk - bring the sachets with milk if you want a morning cuppa) the room was so comfy and peaceful great nights sleep. Location for us was perfect over the river from the hustle bustle (we love walking we even walked from the train station to the hotel 45 mins with the case). The bathroom and shower cubicle is tiny and the hairdryer is very slow and stops after a while if on too long (I only used the once).

  We stayed for 5 nights in this hotel. Room is quite cozy and with AC. Only 30mins walk from Ponte Vecchio and infront of river Arno, in a quiet area. Bathroom does not have handheld shower.   No need to expect fancy stuff here, buddy. This place isn't a high-end hotel, but it's clean, quiet, and decent. The owner and staff are super nice. The bathroom's a bit snug, but it gets the job done. Plus, they throw in two free water bottles and some tasty cookies. The location isn't smack in the center, but you've got some gourmet restaurants nearby.
