  The hotel is centrally located just a short walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station and close waking distance toPalazzo dei Congressi, Central Market, train and Basilica of Santa Maria Novella. The staff were helpful and friendly and our room (which had a lovely view overlooking the City including the Dumo) was immaculately clean. I also loved the old fashioned lift!

  The hotel is not a hotel as such it is part of a building housing a number of hotelsWe were allocated room 2 which I can only describe as a prison cellWe looked over nothing but a building quadrant The room was stuffy and small The receptionist on our arrival was rude and unhelpful The Terrace for breakfast is a corridor with windowsNo tea available most mornings, stale pastries and poor choiceThe room mentioned for hot and cold drinks is a coffee machine in a spare room, the coffee is awful and there are no cold drinksThe only things that this place has in its favour is the location and the comfy beds We were woken early every morning by drilling, banging and buildersI would look elsewhere mslrrt, at Hotel Fiorita, responded to this review Dear Jo,feel sorry your experience with us was not satisfactory. we always work hard to offer a good experience to our guests. With that said we report some light to your comment.Our hotel lies on the 3° floor of an historical building; if you do not like history or to have an experience in this kind of building then you are right: this is not the hotel for you.It is a pity you did not show the photo of the room ; what you call a prsion cell, stuffy and small, it is almost 20 sm + bathroom in the back side so very very quiet ( lots of people ask for a quiet room)Probably you did not notice it but terrace overlooks the city of Florence..   Neat rooms, very good location in the heart of Florence though noisy construction work was ongoing throughout our stay and the breakfast was ok.   BED BUGS. You’ve been warned!

  Worst hotel experience I can imagine. It’s taken months to write this after an utterly traumatic stay. This hotel is hostel quality. I had a bad feeling upon checking in but didn’t have a realistic option given our short stay and children. We didn’t choose this hotel, local friends did. We check every room for bed bugs and did with this room as well. The mattresses were brand new, seems nice but is suspicious given how shabby/old/smelly the room was, important to keep in mind… the first night I couldn’t sleep, espresso late in the day and an uncomfortable feeling about this hotel. Thank god though. I felt something on my leg around 3am. Shined my phone flash light under the covers to reveal BED BUGS. I had been bitten several times. Instinctively I killed the largest one which oozed out blood. My family was staying with me, so the level of concern was very high. We all woke up, packed up, and left the room. It was about 4am. There was no one at the front desk. No locked doors. No security measures which is concerning on its own. Finally someone came and acted surprised about the bed bugs. They offered us another room. Ummmm hell no, the hotel is infested. We had to evacuate in the middle of the night. We emailed with the manager about our incident. Not only do we want our money back but they need to aggressively exterminate. What ensued was wild… they refused to reimburse the night we got half sleep and bitten by bed bugs. PLUS, they made up a story about an exterminator inspecting the room who found no bed bugs (like we are the crazy ones). Further more, they tried to tell me I got mosquito bites… there were no mosquitoes, I killed a blood soaked bed bug while it was biting me, mosquitoes aren’t flying under heavy blankets… We asked to see the exterminator report and they refused… because it was definitely made up. I’m sure they will reply to this review with something “smart” just like the dismissive emails they sent. I had bed bug bites on multiple parts of my body. The nightmare of cleaning everything we brought for 4 people and switching hotels ruined our visit to Florence and cost a ton of money. The stress and worry about bringing home bed bugs was serious and put a significant damper on our entire vacation. While they didn’t charge us for the full stay, they did for the night I was fed on by blood sucking insects. They hotel was creepy from the start, I should have trusted my gut. Please do not make the same mistake we did and stay at this hotel, unless of course you are there to study bed bugs and bring some kind of haz mat suit with you. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.   A/C didn’t function. Not sure why energy was wasted on having it installed and “run”. Luckily, the nights were cool and could leave windows open to a beautiful skyline. Beautiful wraparound balcony. Clean beds. Clean bathroom. Hotel located on top/3rd floor. Elevator. Walkable to/from train station. On website, hot and cold drinks provided throughout the day for guests to help themselves. Nope. “Men gathered at night in entryway on bottom floor was a little unsettling.
