  Would recommend this hotel. It is in a great location near some major points of interest including the Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, and a quick walk to the Uffizi museum. The room was very spacious with temperature control. If you're coming in late spring and summer, there will be mosquitos. But, that’s just the nature of the area and not something the hotel can control. The hotel does provide a plug in mosquito repellant. If there's not already on in your room, you can ask for one. The hotel front desk staff, particularly Emmanuel, were kind and helpful. The folks handling the breakfast buffet were also friendly and helpful. The hotel also has a rooftop bar with panoramic views.

  We had a deluxe room which was quite large with a couch and large bathroom. Crisp fresh sheets. Very clean. Top 5 best hotel showers ever. Hot water and nice strong spray. Great location but there are lots of stairs. Breakfast had excellent coffee and a good selection but they do stop serving at 10 am. I think they should consider extending it to 10:30. We loved it and would definitely stay here again.

  Hotel Scaletta was spectacular from the moment we walked in. A gentleman was waiting at the front entrance to take our luggage from the entrance as we departed our cab. The check-in process was seamless and we were amazed with our spectacular room (724), which had a huge jacuzzi bathtub, sauna, steam room, and a separate living room. The room was stunning and much more than we could ever have imagined. We were escorted to our room with all of our luggage taken care of and had every amenity we needed. Would absolutely stay here again!

  Nice tourist hotel but beware of walking up and down steps & poor WiFi

  First, the service was very good and it was better than I have imagined for a typical tourist hotel in Europe. Second, the hotel restaurant on the rooftop was good especially breakfast. We tried breakfast at some nearby restaurants, but the hotel really has the best breakfast in the city. So pay for it. Here comes the bad part. First, there are many steps involved in getting to your rooms, and if you have any mobility issues, Florence might not be for you, and this hotel is definitely not for you. The elevator is a tiny one that can fit one or two person, and even getting to elevator will involve walking up some steps. I only wish the hotel is a bit clearer about it. It is an old building turning into a hotel in a relatively tourist area. Second, the WiFi truly sucks and it is nearly useless. If you need to work, you need to buy some mobile data plan through your phone or devices. Don't rely on the hotel. Remember that it is a tourist, not a business hotel. The location is good for tourists, so that's perhaps the best part of staying here. If you are a business traveler, you need to stay elsewhere. I had a nice stay here with my family but the poor WiFi and the walking up and down steps will make me think twice if I need to travel with my elders.

  As a 65 year old solo female traveller I was a bit nervous about going to Florence. This hotel was the perfect choice, excellent location very close to Ponte Vecchio, effecient, helpful and pleasant staff all contributed to makibg this a stay to remember. My room was well appointed and the standard if cleaning was exceptional. The fridge was well stocked with soft drinks and the heating was easy to control perfect for chilly evenings. There is a genorosity about this hotel which made it a joy to stay there. Can’t wait to go back
