  AC did not work. No screens on the window so when trying to cool the unit, mosquitoes got it

  Wonderful hotel in Florence

  If you’re considering this hotel just book it. All staff are so friendly and make you feel genuinely welcome as if we were extended family. hotel building is grand, charming and quirky. Hotel has a bar, ice machine, tea/ coffee/ free bottled water/ hair dryer/ fridge in room with chargeable drinks inside, comfortable mattress and a free room safe. Breakfast is great with plenty of choice- cakes, croissants, breads, fruits, cereals, yogurts, cheese, cold meat, hot selection - scrambled egg, potatoes, cooked ham. The location is fantastic, 7 minutes from Santa Maria Novella train station, 15 minutes to river/ bridges, shops and restaurants everywhere, 10 minute walk to the cathedral. We enjoyed having a drink at the Irish bar by the hotel ( The Fiddler’s Elbow ) and can recommend Royal India, Sabatini’s Restaurant (expensive but lovely steak). We booked trips through GetYourGuide and can recommend a Golf Buggy Tour that has multiple vantage points looking down over Florence. Getting to the hotel we landed at Pisa Airport and got the PisaMover tram to Pisa ( 10 minutes max) then chose a direct TrenItalia train Pisa to Firenze Santa Maria Novella ( approximately 1 hour 10 mins). We were able to buy both tickets for PisaMover and TrenItalia at the desk at the airport but you have to remember to endorse the TrenItalia ticket at a platform machine prior to boarding the train (or you risk a fine). The cost - 35 euro for both tickets (2 people one way trip). Note- Hotel Rosso 23 is joined with Garibaldi Blu Hotel and shares the same reception/ breakfast area/ lounge. You will see a very small wall sign for Garibaldi Blu Hotel in the piazza Santa Maria Novella between two cafe terraces.

  Great Stay in the Heart of Florence

  Beautiful hotel just steps away from the magic of Florence. The room was modern and clean, and we loved being so close to everything — it made it easy to enjoy the city all day long. One small note: please check the lobby restrooms. Thank you everyone.   The location of the hotel is great, being only a five-minute walk from the Florence train station. Lots of restaurants nearby and I was able to walk to all tours and sightseeing I wanted to do. Had a few difficulties finding the entrance to the hotel, it shares an entrance with Garibaldi Blu Hotel which is the only signage. My room was clean, a decent size, had a TV with some English language channels, a fridge, kettle with tea and instant coffee, and a comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. The bathroom was modern; the shower was on the small size. The room was cleaned daily. Even though the hotel is located on a busy square, the room was quiet at night. The hotel breakfast was a buffet which contained a wide variety of items, from scrambled eggs with sausage (hotdogs), fruit, meat, cheeses, breads, cereal, yogurt, juices and a selection of sweets. They also made fresh coffee to order and had drip coffee available on the buffet. There was a smoking area in a courtyard within the hotel, and a bar located on the main floor which was perfect for a pre-dinner drink. All of the staff were friendly and were helpful when needed. This is a 4-star hotel and the cost seemed very reasonable relative to the quality and comfort this hotel offers.   An excellent hotel to stay in in the heart of Florence.

  Excellent staff, very attentive, professional and nothing is too much an ask. Location is ideal in the centre of Florence, close enough to everything you need. Decor and lobbies are very contemporary and quirky with their decor. Rooms are well looked after and some have great views across the Florence rooftops. Breakfast options are great and a bar open until midnight to enjoy a drink in the lobby.There were construction works and scaffolding on the building right next to the hotel when we visited but you couldn't hear a thing from them when inside the hotel.Stayed there for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon and couldn't fault any of it. They even had a life sized statue of Batman in the hallway as a bonus!
