  Great hotel in one of the most charming towns in Italy. It was very clean and well appointed. I would definitely stay here again when I return to Lucca. The staff was very helpful and the location can’t be beat. Easy access to everything within the walls of the old city.

  Stayed for 3 nights, had a shared bathroom and two single beds for my fiancé and I. For 3 nights inc City Tax, we paid €180. An absolute bargin. The location is Superb!. It's 2 mins from the train station. 4 minute stroll to the Duomo and all the attractions are so close. The staff we're very nice and helpful. It's a two star hotel, so don't come expecting a 5 star experience. If you're going to Florence to see the city and only use the room for sleeping, then stay here and you'll be happy..

  The hotel entrance was refurbishing, stinking really bad. The shower had some problems you need hold the shower all the time if not the water going everywhere. The breakfast wasn't good, the cheese and ham was only fews and the laid just change when arrive New people and small quantaty.Before booking check the reviews.

  For a budget hotel this place fulfilled our needs. The staff hotel was really nice and helpful everytime. The room was clean but a bit of chilly even though we set the heat on high. Also the furniture would need some improvements. The advantage of this place is that it was really close to the train station and also all the important attractions. The breakfast was basic and the food was ok.

  Stay Away!

  Oh my! Stay away! Not only did the entire hotel smell like an ashtray, when we walked into our ‘nonsmoking room’ that we had booked, we nearly choked. Clearly someone had just been smoking in the room and regularly. We were not expecting fancy but we did expect to able to breath.We asked at the front desk if we could get another ‘real’ nonsmoking room and they told us ours was nonsmoking. We were not about to stay there and run the risk of triggering breathing issues so far from home. We told them we were leaving and wanted to cancel the next two nights we had reserved; we knew we would be responsible for the first night. But they refused to cancel because we had booked through Expedia.We left and stayed at a far better, equally convenient and similarly priced hotel we managed to find just around the corner even though it was nearly 10pm on a Sunday night.Unfortunately when we got back home Expedia refused to help us get at least 2 of the nights refunded saying that the hotel told them that they had offered us another room and we refused it (they didn’t/we didn’t). So “he said, she said”...and, well, they sided with “him” so our advice — Expedia buyer beware and Hotel Monica buyer beware, stay away and find a better option!! Yuck!! Yes, it’s Europe and people smoke, but we did not run into this issue anywhere else in Italy so it’s the hotel management. It’s just not a nice place and even if you are on a budget, there are much nicer places just around the corner.
