  Sweet Hotel in Great Location

  We recently stayed at the Hotel Olimpia for three nights this past July. The hotel itself was small, yet had everything that we needed. The air conditioning worked well, which was wonderful as it was very hot in the city at that time. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The best part of this hotel was the location. It was right in the centre of Florence, only minutes from the Duomo and from the main river. The Piazza was full of life at night, with great cafes, music, and entertainment steps from the hotel. At night, you could sit in the little dining room and listen to the bustle of the city from the open windows. Breakfast was also included with this hotel. Although there was not a lot of variety, there were breads, cheeses, assorted meats, etc. There was definitely enough to find for everyone, and was a nice way to start the day. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this hotel in the heart of the city!

  Perfect location, in the middle of the old town on a pedestrian street full of restaurants, bars, shops and walking distance to the most attractions. Staff was great, very friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms are old fashionable (but spacious and very clean), we didn't like the toilet but is ok for short stay as its location is really amazing. Average breakfast. It is possible to get to the hotel with a car.

  I never read reviews as people like what people like. This hotel is very basic. BUT the rooms are clean the staff are kind and so helpful and the location is so central. Yeah it has basic amenities but how long are you really staying in your hotel room for?? We THOROUGHLY enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel. Thank you x

  Worst experience ever!!

  This was literally the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel, and I have been in different types of hotels in many countries and continents. To begin, the elevator is scary, does not work well and is very dangerous. The two times I tried to use it, I saw people trapped inside and not being able to get out, not to mention how difficult it is to operate it. Secondly, and I am going to be as precise as I can in order to give an accurate description of the experience me and my family (wife and 1 year old daughter) had: this was by far the most unpleasant experience in a hotel mwe have ever had. After ringing the intercom and asking for the details (price, accomodations, etc) we decided to stay here. Bringing with us our 3 large baggages, our baby stroller and 2 backpacks, we finally got to the fourth floor where this b&b is located (difficulties with the elevator included, as I mention before). We were there received by a very rude man, who told us in a very unpolite way that we needed to pay right there in advance, and then he yelled us that we needed to sign some sort of form (which is ok, I consider this a standard procedure). Considering that we were with our baby, and that she got scared with this guy's attitude, I told him that he was being rude, and that this was not the right way to treat customer. Inmediately after saying this, he got furious and yelled us that the room was not available anymore and ordered us to get out of there. We could not believe what was going on, so we asked if he was the owner, and he said yes, and told us to get out again in a very rude and violent manner. It was around 11 pm, and we were tired after driving all the way from Rome with our baby crying. I think this was probably the most humiliatng experience we have ever had, and I definitely do not recommend anyone to stay there. Maybe it was just bad luck, maybe this person was tired, not having a good day, who knows, but never, under any circunstances anyone should treat a customer the way this person did. It’s a shame that in such a beautiful city as Florence there are places like this. Totally awful.

  Super central, walk everywhere, and good restaurants and cafes just at the door. Reception is on the 4th floor, use the 19th century elevator, it’s so historical. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable, just what you need to sleep and enjoy the amazing city.
