    I live not far from Florence so I go often with my wife. Hilda might be one of the best hotels in the center. The rooms are like studio apartments. The location could not be better, right next to the Duomo. It’s immaculate, quiet and just a perfect place to stay.

    I spent two weeks in Florence for an intensive Italian language course. Residence Hilda was ideally located - a five-minute walk to my school, and also to the Piazza del Duomo. But it was far enough away from the Piazza that there was less pedestrian and vehicle traffic on the Via dei Servi, and the nearby restaurants were less pricey. My room was essentially an apartment, with a bedroom, a kitchenette, and a bathroom with an enormous, comfortable bathtub. The bedroom windows were at the back of the building, opening out onto the Via dei Fibbiai - a much quieter street than Via dei Servi.The rooms were kept spotless by the staff. The WiFi worked without a hitch. The managers were available by phone or WhatsApp 24/7, and were always helpful. I felt welcomed and at home!Two small criticisms: the rooms are overly warm, even in February, and the bed has a duvet, but no top sheet, which makes it difficult to get cool enough for good sleeping. Opening the windows helps, but then you have more noise from the street.Also, the chair at the desk is too low for comfortable work. An adjustable desk chair would be very welcome!You should know that if you check in on a Sunday, the front desk is not manned. The managers are available on WhatsApp, and will let you in remotely. I was a little worried about this, but it worked without a hitch. They actually messaged me to ask when I was arriving just when I had walked up to the front door!

    I love this hotel! Large, comfy, clean rooms with eco-friendly thoughts all along the journey during my stay. Thank you also kindly for the upgrade :-) Everyone at the hotel is kind and helpful. I suggest a room at the back of the hotel as that area is off the main street. There is a nice cafe next to the hotel (on corner) for a great breakfast. Great linens and pillows and comfy bed. Super kitchen! Big bathroom. AND I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU CAN SKIP MAID SERVICE AND THEY USE THE MONEY SAVED TO MAKE A DONATION TO A PET WELFARE CHARITY. YES YES YES!
