A highly recommended hotel

We are a couple of retired persons living in Sydney, Australia. We were planning to revisit Florence sometimes this year. While I was doing my search for accommodation, I found Rex hotel is one of the ideal places to stay for a couple nights for somebody travels by the trains: It is very close to the trains station and historical center with numerous facilities around it. Also, very importantly, it offers the best rate in the area. By mistake, at my age, I accidently booked a non-refundable room for wrong dates, and I did not have recollection of my booking until a couple hours late when I saw the bank transaction. I wrote an email to explain my situation to the hotel management; fully aware that they don't have to refund me for this non-refundable booking. Fortunately, the hotel has refunded my payment. It shows how kind the people are in this hotel, from the management to the receptionist who first received my email. I highly recommend this hotel to every traveler. For me, when I travel, the most important thing, is to know the locals are kind from their heart.

Hotel Rex Florence….not anything like pictures!

Eight of us booked rooms at the hotel Rex in Florence. We all checked out the website and reviewed the pictures and thought it would be a good deal for us. The location was good, right in the middle of everything. However, the hotel is way below standard. The pictures on the website are nothing like the hotel itself. It was very disappointing, the breakfast was very marginal, the bed was not bad, there were all sorts of garbage and other smells generating into the rooms.I would not recommend this hotel for anyone unless they’re on a very low budget. I believe the pictures on the website need to be updated to show the actual accommodations and not some fantasy accommodations.
