Location

This hotel is one of the finest buildings in Florence and is only a few minutes' walk from Florence's major attractions, such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi art gallery, Michelangelo's David and the Duomo. The main train station (Santa Maria Novella) is only some 200 m away and this makes the hotel easily accessible for those travelling by train. The hotel offers excellent value for money and the nearest public transport stop is around 200 m from the hotel.

The hotel has 27 rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions.     Excellent!! In every way!! Close to sights, restaurants and Metro!Near our fave restaurant Ciro's and Sons.Safe, near bars with well priced drinks.

    Hotel Rex Florence….not anything like pictures!

    Eight of us booked rooms at the hotel Rex in Florence. We all checked out the website and reviewed the pictures and thought it would be a good deal for us. The location was good, right in the middle of everything. However, the hotel is way below standard. The pictures on the website are nothing like the hotel itself. It was very disappointing, the breakfast was very marginal, the bed was not bad, there were all sorts of garbage and other smells generating into the rooms.I would not recommend this hotel for anyone unless they’re on a very low budget. I believe the pictures on the website need to be updated to show the actual accommodations and not some fantasy accommodations.

    Stayed here early July 2025 for 3 nights. Very nice rooms, AC worked well, nice central location. Close to train station.

    I have absolutely no idea why this lovely hotel has received so many poor reviews. I am staying in it as I write and find it extremely clean and comfortable with friendly staff, a lovely room, a superb location and gushing hot water. Prices of hotels in Florence are pretty much either €120 or €500 per night so I can't imagine what people expect - The Ritz perhaps? In London the same price would get you the grotty outskirts of King's Cross rather than a wonderful street full of bars and trats 10 minutes from the Duomo...pull yourselves together people! Great hotel, highly recommend (and not our first time in Firenze) - make the most of this beautiful city and stop whining!
