Location

This elegant, family-run hotel is housed in an age-old palazzo that dates back to the 19th century and that lies directly beside the Arno River. It is approximately 15 minutes walk to the Basilica Santa Croce and to the Uffizi Palace with the hotel featuring a location between Lungarno and Santa Croce. The airport is some 10 km away and the centre (Piazza della Signoria) is 1 km from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1850. The hotel has 38 rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air.     Lovely experience at this Hotel by Arno River

    I recently spent ten days in Tuscany and chose Florence as my base for the trip. I was looking for a comfortable hotel that would allow me to take day trips to nearby cities while returning to Florence each evening, thus avoiding the inconvenience of repeatedly packing, unpacking, checking in, and settling bills. After considerable research, I chose Hotel River & Spa, located on the banks of the Arno River, and it proved to be an excellent decision.The hotel is very well situated, comfortable, and, above all, distinguished by the kindness and professionalism of its staff. Upon our arrival after flying from San Diego to Florence, we found our room ready, with fruit and cookies thoughtfully arranged to welcome us at 11:00 p.m. It was a gracious and memorable gesture. Each morning, breakfast was delicious, abundant, varied, and served with impeccable attention. The reception staff, especially Ana, were consistently courteous and exceptionally helpful. On one occasion, I left my cellphone in a taxi, and she was able to locate it and arrange for its return in less than three hours.The room was always impeccably clean and very comfortable, with a pleasant view of the river from the first floor.I highly recommend this hotel. When I return to Florence, this will certainly be where I stay.

    Visited as 3 couples. We had rooms next to each other Must say the view wasn’t good but how long do you spend in your room?! Comfortable beds very clean. We only had to ask for fresh milk for our tea. Friendly staff. Reception helped us book a restaurant on both nights for meal out and arranged a taxi for us. Rosa served us in the bar on all 3 nights. She was great.

    This is a beautiful hotel located right across from the river Arno. 15 minute walk to the center of Florence and the train station. This hotel also has parking for your car. The hotel is beautifully decorated. The rooms are not large but they are well appointed. Breakfast is included with your stay. The breakfast is fantastic. They serve almost anything you can think of. All the staff are very welcoming especially the ladies in the breakfast room. The room prices are reasonable and affordable. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

    We got such good value for money with our room. The hotel's situation was perfect walking distance from the city centre without being so close that we were disturbed by its hustle and bustle!We were treated upon arrival to local delicacies and were offered a 10% discount in the restaurant. The steak they served there was phenomenal!The staff were helpful and very courteous. Would come again.
