    excellent stay

    rating21 Feb 2026

Very nice hotel right in the middle of the old town, right by the San Lorenzo basilica. Very easy walking to all the main attractions - Doumo 3 min, Signoria, Ufizzi and Ponte Vecchi 10 min, Pitti palace 20 min, Piazalle Michelangelo 30-40 min (lots of steps, but worth the amazing view).Hotel room was small and on the 3rd floor, with entrance on the hallway from a small garden - interesting. To go to the bathroom you needed to go up 3 steps, somehow challenging at night with no light (we had to leave the bathroom light on to see the steps). Otherwise very comfortable and the price was really decent for a hotel in the main area of the city.Leather market literally 2 steps away, could not believe how many leather stands and shops they have in Florence.Easy walk to the train station (5 min) and from there tram T2 to Peretola airport (1.70 euro, 20-25 min)Try All Antico Vinaio sandwiches while in Florence - they are amazing. Giacomo Salesia, Direttore generale at Solo Experience Hotel, responded to this review Thank you, Elena, for sharing your experience at SOLO Experience Hotel in the heart of Florence. We're thrilled you enjoyed our unbeatable location near the Duomo, San Lorenzo Basilica, and Florence's main attractions—all within easy walking distance. We're glad you appreciated the proximity to the leather market and the convenience to both the train station and Peretola airport. Thanks for noting the room’s comfort and value; regarding the bathroom steps, your feedback is important and we’ll look for solutions to improve night visibility. We hope to welcome you again for another authentic stay in Florence.ChiaraBack office manager

    Surprisingly Amazing

    rating15 Jan 2026

Giovanni and team, a big thank you, you guys are wonderful. The hotel itself is very well done up interior, surprisingly chic yet comfortable. The room is amply spacious, ours faced the San Lorenzo Chapel. Everything in the hotel is classy, it may not look so from outside. There are restaurants, trattorias, cafes and even a supermart in walking distance. You can walk to the train station but iif you have luggage then take a 5 minute taxi ride. This place is amazing ! Giacomo Salesia, Direttore generale at Solo Experience Hotel, responded to this review Gavin, thank you very much for your kind words. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at SOLO Experience Hotel in the heart of Florence. It is wonderful to read that you liked our chic and comfortable interiors, the spacious room with a view of the beautiful Medici Chapels, and the convenience of having restaurants and shops just a few steps away. Giovanni and our entire team are committed to making every stay special. Your feedback confirms our attention to authentic Florentine hospitality and design. We hope to welcome you back soon for another extraordinary stay in Florence!ChiaraBack office manager

Beautiful Hotel in the Heart of Florence

    rating01 Nov 2025

The rooms were very nice, spacious and clean but what stood out the most was the friendly staff and the homemade breakfast! I would strongly recommend adding the daily breakfast to your stay. Each morning we were greeted with a smile and a freshly made cappuccino. All of the food was delicious but the freshly baked pastries were out of this world! Destination797598, at Solo Experience Hotel, responded to this review Jennifer, thank you for sharing your experience at SOLO Experience Hotel in the heart of Florence. Bad business practices at the Solo Experience

    rating26 Sept 2025

Tl;dr; BUYER BEWARE!!!! The hotel had an issue with very bad sewage smell in our room and was unable to fix it. Due to my wife’s Asthma we were not able to stay in the room. They did not have another room available for the first night which forced us to move to another hotel. They refused ANY refund saying that we had “already checked in” and that they had a NO REFUND POLICY (read the booking). They also stated to Expedia (which I booked through) that they fixed the problem while we were there. The fix was to pour strong smelling chemicals down all the drains to simply mask the Sewage smell which then horribly triggered my wife’s Asthma. If you have an issue they cannot fix and are FORCED to leave for MEDICAL reasons they will NOT refund your money! Very bad business practices!!! I cannot remember the last time I wrote a bad review about a hotel. I don’t complain often. BUYER BEWARE!!!!After reading all the ratings of the Solo Experience we were very excited to stay there on our first trip to Florence. The location of the hotel is fabulous as it is very central in Florence and you can go anywhere easily from there due to the fact that Florence is so small and walkable. When we first walked in we were happily greeted at the front desk and told our room was available. Being that we were early we were very happy to be able to put our things away, wash our face and hands and go out exploring. When we entered the room we were met with a VERY strong smell of sewage in the room. My son (who inspects hotels and restaurants for a living) quickly found that the drain in the bathroom behind the toilet had water up to the top and that is what was smelling. We were on the top floor. We placed our bags down and sat for about 20 minutes. My wife who has Asthma started to cough and I decided that we would close the door to the bathroom, open the window and go out for a quick walk (about 20 minutes) and then see how it was when we returned. When we returned the room was a bit better but you could not open the bathroom door it was so bad, forget trying to go in there to go to the bathroom or take a shower. We called the front desk and they asked us to leave for 1 hour and that they would call us when they were done.We left and 1.5 hours later went back because we had gotten no call. When we entered the room all we smelled was heavy smelling chemicals of something they had poured down the drains in the bathroom to simply mask the smell. I had told everyone at the front desk that my wife has Asthma and I don’t see how they thought that was a good idea! The “fix” was worse that the problem! Within minutes my wife’s Asthma was trigged and even my sinuses were clogging up. Figuring that we cannot stay I spoke to the front desk person, they understood about it being medically necessary and we left. We found another hotel in the area and we were VERY happy with our stay there. The next day I spoke to Expedia and told them the problem. They agreed that it was a medical issue and not safe for my wife (or anyone) to be there and called the hotel. The hotel quickly stated their “no refund policy” and refused to provide a refund even though we did not stay there. They kept telling Expedia that we had already “checked in”. The Solo Experience Hotel might have been nice if we were able to stay there, but sadly we were not. Even more sad was their lack of caring and horrible business practices. BUYER BEWARE, before you book a room there think twice! Giacomo Salesia, Direttore generale at Solo Experience Hotel, responded to this review James, thank you for describing your experience at SOLO Experience Hotel in Florence.I am sorry if the solution was not optimal for you; had you informed us of your wife's asthma issue earlier, we might have been able to take it into account. However, I want to clarify that the bad smell you reported was not as unbearable as you described. It was simply a problem that often affects Florence on humid days, coming up from the sewers and entering home courtyards. As I personally told you, the smell was not due to a lack of cleanliness but rather came from outside.Since it was not caused by poor hygiene, the only thing we can do is deodorize the room. Usually, asthmatics do not suffer so much from diluted cleaning products (myself and one of my colleagues are asthmatic, so we know the issue well). Our impression was that you were not satisfied with the room and were looking for a reason to request a refund. We've been doing this job for some time and do not let ourselves be fooled so easily, I'm sorry. We will be happy not to host you again, and I hope your review will dissuade customers like you from booking with us.Thank you very much,Chiaraback office manager
