  Rude Welcome

  Our experience with this accommodation was extremely disappointing due to the very poor and rude service we received upon arrival.This stay was booked through our travel agent as part of a tour package, and the voucher clearly stated that we would be arriving late because our train to Florence was scheduled to arrive after 9 PM.When we arrived, we did not even realize this was an Airbnb-style residence, as the old entrance door was closed and it did not appear to be a hotel or proper accommodation. After struggling with the poorly lit buzzers, we finally managed to contact someone. After some time, an older gentleman came down and introduced himself as the previous owner who was now helping the new owners.Instead of welcoming us, he immediately became rude and disrespectful, blaming us for not knowing the “rules” of the residence. When we explained that everything had been arranged through our travel agent, he responded by saying, “When you come to a new country, will you not check where you are going to stay?”I have never experienced such an unwelcoming and disrespectful reception anywhere we have travelled. My wife and I were so upset by his attitude and behaviour that it completely ruined our excitement about being in beautiful Florence.When we pointed out that our voucher clearly mentioned a late check-in, his response was simply that the booking was made through Expedia. My question is: if you dislike Expedia and how they operate, then why list your business there in the first place? It feels like they want the business but do not want to properly accommodate guests.To make matters worse, we were charged a €50 late check-in fee after enduring this treatment.It was already around 10:30 PM when my wife politely asked if it would be okay to shower since he kept reminding us that there were private residences in the building. His sarcastic response was, “You are not going to dance in the shower, so it should be okay.”If we had simply received a respectful and courteous welcome, our stay could have been pleasant. Unfortunately, the rude treatment we experienced upon arrival left a lasting negative impression.

  As a guest, I don’t like being yelled at.

  Was scolded Incessantly by the annoying Englishman for “making him wait 10 min” to let me in, since I had failed to thoroughly read directions about the address numbers. As I had indicated by phone I was in front of the building, when he didn’t see me, you would think he would’ve realized I had tried to access the residence via the other set of address numbers. After the prolonged to be rating, I told him if he didn’t stop I was leaving.Also, I know he was trying to be helpful, but when a guest says they can manage their own bags, they mean it. I was carrying some delicate items and did not want him to carry my luggage. Yet, he persisted. Not cool.

  A Gem of a Find.

  Everything is thoughtfully provided. The room was extremely clean and sheets and towels were of a high quality. This is a jewel of a find, in a central location, opposite the Pritti Palace and about a minute's walk from the Ponte Vecchio.Breakfast can be bought at any bar, but one nearby offers a discount for guests of the residenza.

  Very welcoming and caring staff. The room was excellent. No complains.It is located in the city center, near the biggest tourist attractions. Near the place is a cafe that provides breakfast with a discount if you are from this Residenza. 10/10

  Interesting place to stay in Firenze

  Andrew is a great host. He was helpful and even waited for us on the city street to make sure we will find the place. The building is old so that was a bonus, the room was cozy and clean. The place is basically in the city center,5 minute walk from "the bridge of gold".
