  Lovely hotel just be aware name is not outside hotel

  A very comfortable hotel. The rooms are very stylish and there is tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. The room has air conditioning as well as large windows that can be opened. The breakfast was lovely especially the honeycomb. There were yogurts. Fruit pastries and eggs/ toast and beans(Florence style). A little out of the main city centre but on a bus route(10 mins) or a 20 min walk.

  Do not book direct with this hotel!

  I always try and book hotels direct so they don't lose out on commission. Unfortunately, I booked this hotel direct and what a mistake to make! Of course, when a hotel overbooks, they will look for easy pickings which in this case was us! We booked with a credit card (the one we used for all our other hotels) to guarantee, payment conditions were to pay on departure. Three days before we were due to arrive, they sent an email saying reservation cancelled, reason given "invalid credit card". No attempt to contact us, either by email or phone! I emailed them, tried phoning, and sent them a message by facebook, all ignored. Clearly they had overbooked so they cancelled us as we hadn't used a Third Party booking platform, (they wouldn't have got off with cancelling had we used this method). Even if the credit card was invalid (which it wasn't), then surely when we got to the hotel they could have checked the card again, or asked for cash as we weren't due to leave until departure. What a shocking, disgraceful way to treat guests. They have had every opportunity to respond but clearly don't care, hence this negative review.

  Nice Stay in Quaint Neighborhood in Florence

  Hotel Ungherese is a great place to stay in Florence. It is located in a quaint residential neighborhood outside of the historical center but within a short walking distance to metro lines. It allows you to avoid the madness of overtourism and high prices associated with staying in the city center while still providing easy access to Firenze Centro. Many of the rooms have been recently renovated and have upgraded bath facilities and amenities. In addition, the rooms are more spacious and have more storage than one would find in the City Center. A great value stay with great service and hosts.

  Thank you for a wonderful experience, we’ve been travelling Italy and our itinerary is extremely tight therefore we didn’t end up getting to the hotel until 4am after telling them 1am. As a small hotel we didn’t expect them to be at the check in but they sorted us out with a security code, sealed envelope and instructions. We stayed in the condo and it had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. Clean and helpful, kind and friendly staff. The terrace is beautiful and made a lovely location for breakfast. The fact it is 2 stars really surprises me, the decor is fabulous! Only down point was a mother and son in the apartment opposite being loud in the morning.Thanks for a wonderful stay!

  Not worth the money

  We had high expectations for this small hotel. It was alright, and the room was nice and clean, everything you expect from a hotel with these prices. Something we really wish we where informed about was the loud music from the bar EVERY NIGHT from 18.00-00.00. So if you’re room is facing the bar, bring earplugs. The hotel also provided us with a list of restaurants the recommended. We tried two of them, with disappointing results. One of them, treated us so badly. It was clear they didn’t like tourists. We left feeling like they really didn’t like us. The other place was closed on mondays (which should be informed) The second last night we got a voucher for one free cocktail in the bar (because it really didn’t seem like anyone was visiting the bar… which is why I don’t understand why the music played so long every night) we didn’t use it and I’m glad, since we overheard a couple complaining that the where only allowed a drink and not a cocktail which the voucher did indeed say. The manager really didn’t seem to care much about their complaint and suggestion to change the cocktail voucher to drink, but still ended up giving them their money back (not with a smile and service if you ask me) They also inform you that there’s free parking with the hotel, but that’s only if there’s a spot available. Otherwise you’ll be doomed to roam around the side streets until you find a spot.. So all in all, it’s a nice place, but I’m not sure it’s worth your money. I would pay less for a more service-minded hotel - closer to the city center.
