    Not good

    rating29 Sept 2025

First day both of our rooms had the bathroom sliding doors fall off while showering causing water to leak everywhere. We were told they would fix it but all they did was take the broken door out of the room.Room smelled like sewage. We could hear everything that happened outside including people yelling at 4am in the morning. No sound insulation at all.

    A touch of the old

    rating24 May 2024

My mother and I stayed here in it’s such a homey hotel. It is a touch of the old with all the paintings as doors and paintings all around. I asked and was told this hotel was a monastery before, and now I know why it looks like this. I love it. The rooms are simple and clean ALTHOUGH my only 3 complaints will be 1. The smell in my bathroom in room 105. 2. The unfriendly lady in the breakfast area and the noise she makes when cleaning up in the kitchen. 3. And my room had no phone in my room but my moms had. Why was this? I was not even told and had to find out and they never really explained. All I needed was an explanation. We only see the lady server during breakfast and yet every time we see her she is not smiling and a bit rude when asking the room number and what kind of coffee she can make for you. I am a morning person and it’s not good to see these kinds of people first thing in the morning. Then when she cleans in the kitchen, you have an amplified noise of all the plates hitting each other and utensils being thrown in a container.I love the position of the room because right in front is a ristorante and I can smell the food, it is a busy street so make sure you are used to cats and people passing even at past 10pm. I don’t mind.I would recommend this hotel but will give a 1 thumbs up only. If you are young and with friends, this hotel is perfect. But if you have a senior of 84years old, maybe another hotel would be better.USD 320.00 per night with breakfast for 4 nights for a total of USD 2,560 … a bit pricey for what you get..but being a bit central in the city, it’s okay but no choice since we booked suddenly.. I was booked already in Nuova Italia but had to change since they didn’t have an extra room and our agency booked this for us.It’s an okay quaint hotel with the touches of the past…

By far the worst hotel I have ever been to

    rating13 Oct 2023

The images of the hotel in TripAdvisor (and other platforms) are seriously misleading. The hotel has very poor conditions, especially for the target price! The walls are peeling, the AC unit is so dirty it is disgusting. They also have the AC in some sort of timer, as it turns off at specific times, and then you have to go to the reception to ask them to turn it on! RidiculousThe window in my room did not close properly, so the room was always filled with mosquitos. In the bathroom the water from the shower leaked to the whole bathroom floor, it got slippery and dangerous; the answer from the reception was that they would not fix it while I was there, to put more towels on the floor. The room is so small, that to have a place to sit at the computer I had to put the mini-fridge in the middle of the roomIn general the staff are not very friendly/useful.

    Woeful

    rating16 Jul 2023

The only good thing about this hotel is the location and the air conditioning. The hotel is is serious need of some TLC! The staff are miserable and the breakfast is woefully inadequate, when items run out they don’t get replenished.

    Avoid this hotel!!

    rating02 Jun 2023

If you check Google reviews for this hotel, there are numerous reviews that say the staff is rude. I was hoping to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt, so we booked anyway. Unfortunately, those google reviews about rude staff were very very correct. Everything felt incredibly transactional at this hotel. There was no attempt to get to know the guest or offer any kind of extra care. The “bare minimum” is how I would describe this hotel. Breakfast is depressing. It is the same bare minimum thing every day. A couple slimy cold cuts, pre-made pastries, and hard-boiled eggs. Nothing more, nothing less. I have had better, fresher, and more variety from 2-star hotels. For a 3-star hotel, this was embarrassing. It is also deceptive to use Illy brand cups and serve a much, much cheaper and lesser quality espresso (the breakfast lady said they used Manareso, which tastes nothing like the high quality of Illy). As for the rooms, the walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything going on in the room next to you. The hot water in the shower was sporadic. The hair dryer also barely worked. There were even days when we had no soap restocked in the room after cleaning. You also have NO control over the heat and air conditioning. The kicker was that the guy at reception actually had the nerve to ask us to pay our bill THREE days prior to checking out because we stayed multiple days, had a “big bill” (which, believe me, wasn’t worth the price AT ALL), and he “didn’t want any problems with the money”. Verbatim words….Really?! I would have been happy to pay the bill early (I actually normally do this anyway). But the way he confronted me about this made me feel like he was insinuating I was going to skip out on the bill or pay with a faulty credit card. How insulting! The more respectful approach would have been to say: “here is our policy to pay within 72 hours of check-out” NOT: “I don’t want any problems with your money.” When I shared my disappointment with Marco (the ignorant man at reception) about this, he started to give me excuses about how he has had trouble with Americans paying the bill in the past. So…now I am insulted AND stereotyped? What kind of hotel says that to someone who stays there over a week? Well, maybe if your staff actually got to know me and took care and attention to detail, you’d know that I go to Florence often and was searching for my new regular-stay hotel. This hotel, unfortunately, will not be it….Not after this ignorant treatment and lack of amenities/service. But wait, there’s more…the next TWO receptionists (that evening and then the next morning) all made it a point to incessantly **remind** me “I have to pay early”…this hotel does NOT treat their customers like guests. Instead, they treat you like a CRIMINAL. Absolutely ignorant and disrespectful place that definitely should not have a 3-star ranking. Che schifo!!
