    A beautiful stay outside of the hustle and bustle!

    A beautiful stay outside of the city centre! We had a really lovely stay at Ville Sul'Arno. The staff at the reception were super attentive - we asked for a room change as we were given a room that was rather dark and away from the main hotel and they accomadated this. I would suggest double checking what room you are booking as the more traditional rooms are much more atmospheric than the newer modern ones. But that is down to individual taste! The hotel is about a 40 minute walk into town, which was absolutely fine by us but slightly less aesthetic as we'd hoped as the whole area is under construction. The hotel do everything they can to combat this but it is worth noting. Taxis etc take longer than usual as there is so much road works happening. Also on a weekend there is a bar opposite the river playing music super loud until about 1am - again no issue for us as we got back later but if you had young children or were positioned on the front of the hotel it could be. The housekeeping is impeccable and the touches around the hotel like the free sweet jar and the extensive breakfast are really wonderful. Our only issues were - the pool was rather busy and on a few occasions we weren't able to get a bed there. Also the staff around the pool were not super attentive and got our order wrong most days.We would love to come back when the road works have calmed down!

    Excellent first time in Florence

    We arrives at the hotel at around 1300 and was pleasantly surprised that our room (triple) was actually ready and we could occupy immediately.We had a thorough welcome briefing from the reception staff and shown to our room, our bags followed about 10 minutes later. We had booked for an hour's Opera programme near one of the squares so made our way there via a nice little restaurant for dinner and a drink - plenty to choose from. The Opera was very pleasant and once it finished we made our way back to the hotel as we were now quite tired having been up since 0330. Had a good nights sleep and had a rushed breakfast as we had booked a tour and had to walk 4 kms to pick up the coach. We had a nice walk through the city to pick up the bus and spent the day touring various tourist attractions including wine tasting before arriving back into the hotel where we had a night cap at the bar. The only down side for us there was no draught beer available - but a good selection of craft bottled beers. The next morning we were able to have a much leisurely breakfast as we were doing a city walk under our own steam so took our time sampling the very wide varied breakfast items. We dined in the Hotel's restaurant on the Thursday night and had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner prior to our early check out next morning for our flight home. The Hotel provided us with a very nice breakfast box on our departure. There is lots of tram installation infrastructure work going on all around the city but does not really affect you if you are walking, I suppose it must have an effect on the traffic though. Would highly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here if we were to return to Florence.     Villa Sull’Arno is a beautiful property. The room we booked was spacious and spotless and overlooked the Arno. The food is excellent and shows creativity. I wish breakfast was included or at a more nominal fee…but it is the most extensive buffet I’ve seen. The Only glitch is what no one seems to be mentioning…and that is the massive construction all over the city of Florence. The city is Expanding the tram service and while this will be wonderful when it’s done in 2-3 years, right now it’s loud, dusty and Everywhere ( except city center). This means that taxis have to detour and due to this the fare is higher. The hotel has a shuttle that you can schedule to take to city center and if their schedule works for you, they pick you up and return you to Villa Sull Arno as well…the shuttle is free. They have done everything possible to circumvent the situation…but when we opened our window/ door to listen to the tranquil Arno, the jackhammer noise destroys the serenity. Would we stay there again ? YES…but not until the city construction is complete.     Four perfect days in Florence, a hidden gem worth every penny

    We spent four days here and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The location strikes a rare balance: close enough to Florence’s historic center to feel connected, yet tucked away enough to escape the crowds entirely.The complimentary bicycles were a genuine highlight, not just a practical perk, but a real part of the experience. Exploring the city on two wheels, especially given how chaotic taxi circulation can be, felt like the right way to discover Florence at your own pace.We were also pleasantly surprised by the pool, kept at a comfortable 31°C, and the spa corner at 34°C, a wonderfully quiet retreat to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast and dinner at the table were both excellent, and the bar delivers on its classics with well-crafted cocktails.If there’s one minor note, it’s that the bedroom felt a little snug for three people, something worth keeping in mind when booking.Overall, a wonderful stay we’d happily repeat.     My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in a fantastic spacious room with a spa bath, overlooking the River Arno with a private balcony. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary which the hotel honoured with various special touches, thank you!We loved using the spa and had it to ourselves on numerous occasions. The food is excellent and we enjoyed the breakfast as well as an evening meal (the Florentine Steak is incredible!)The outdoor pool area is lovely to laze around in the sun. We used the free shuttle bus which drops you right into the centre of town and collects you also. The staff are all very attentive and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when in Florence!
