    Nice Hotel with some drawbacks

    rating05 Sept 2025

I stayed here for one night in August on my way back to France. The hotel is very clean, nicely maintained, and centrally located, which makes it convenient for exploring. However, note that it’s on a pedestrian-only street, so if you’re arriving by car, it’s important to get clear directions in advance. Parking is a bit of a walk from the hotel, and the signage near the port was confusing.Because it was Ferragosto weekend, the rate was higher than usual (about €200 for one night), but under normal circumstances the pricing seems reasonable.Breakfast service ends quite early at 9:00 a.m. We checked out at 9:30 and unfortunately missed it, so keep this in mind if you prefer a later start to your day.One drawback in summer is the noise outside—the street was lively with people talking and shouting until around 5:00 a.m., which made it difficult to sleep.Overall, the hotel itself is pleasant and well-kept, but the timing of our stay (holiday weekend, summer crowds) made it less restful than we hoped..

    Last minute lifesaver

    rating27 Aug 2019

I booked this hotel at the very last minute after the place I had previously booked let us down. Good service for the price. The AC in our bedroom was a lifesaver, the style is not the most modern ever and the lift pretty really tiny, however the staff is really friendly and the location is excellent if you plan to visit the city. I was happy overall. We didn't have breakfast there so I cannot comment on it.

    The worse hotel ever!!!

    rating25 Feb 2019

I booked the room via expedia.it The site provided option with breakfast and without the difference was just few euro but unreturnable pay. I decided to book with breakfast it was 100€ exactly. When we arrived on reception was only one old nonno who didn't speak no english, for tourists who traveling without any knowlage of italian language can be complicated. But it is nothing! Later we meet 2 more receptionists who didn't speak english as well! We came for the breakfast "buffet" (tables are just on the reception) it was few croasant some supermarket cookies and small tasters of nutella and peach jam. The waiter he is receptionist as well, called me "dove vai lady?" When i just wanted to serve myself with tea caz he just relaxed in his chair.very unpolite! Next morning i asked !in italian! Black tea and another receptionist, he is an owner as well, served me green one anyway. On check out they requested 6 € more for some taxes! I paied with words thay we never going to come back there!

    Don’t be confused

    rating06 Oct 2018

This is good for a solo, one day trip. There is another hotel in Genova with a similar name. The “Hotel Aquario” has a friendly day staff and is close to the port. But the rooms are shabby clean - in need of a paint and tile job. The night staff is evidently only an elderly gentleman. I was there with a 5 year old; when the glass sink shelf literally shattered it flew across the tiny bathroom into the bedroom. At the first call, he came up and swept some glass down the sink with his hand; over 30 minutes later, h came up and swept a small area. My Italian is limited and his English non-existent. Since it was past 9 at that point, we stayed. The little street you walk up is a bit dark and trashy . I didn’t get a good night’s rest - as I remained vigilant that my child didn’t wake and walk across the glass littered floor. I didn’t even shower as you could see glass glinting in the stall.

Very central, but hard to find and not so great when you do.

    rating09 Jun 2018

This place was OK - when we found it. It is very central, opposite aquarium in the old city labyrinth of alleyways. We couldn't find it without the help of a local and even Genoans didn't know where it was.OK - some positives - it was clean, adequate facilities, including shower and the wifi is very good indeed. But the room is much too small for two and we had to move stuff back to the car. We cannot blame the hotel for this, but parking is very expensive and hard to find - we arrived Friday evening which didn't help - watch out for anyone promoting Genoa with parking 'nearby' - when they say 20€ per day which in itself is expensive, you really have got to expect to pay double taht.
