    Sleepless night in a 5‑star hotel and disappointing response

    We stayed at this hotel for two nights (April 27–29) expecting a special experience, as we do not usually stay in this type of establishment.Unfortunately, our first night was extremely disappointing. We could clearly hear our neighbors talking, laughing, and even their intimate moments. It was very intrusive and we barely slept.We reported this the next morning. The hotel upgraded us for the second night and applied a small reduction, which we appreciated. However, this does not change the fact that one night of our stay was completely ruined.We were also disappointed by the breakfast, which was not at the level one would expect from a hotel of this category, both in terms of quality and overall experience.What is most disappointing is the handling of the situation afterward. Despite explaining the impact this had on our stay, the hotel refused to offer any meaningful compensation and insisted that we should have complained during the night.In a hotel of this category, guests should not have to call reception at midnight because of poor soundproofing.Overall, this experience did not match the standards expected from a luxury hotel, and the lack of consideration in resolving the issue was surprising.

    Beautiful hotel, the property is very old and classic, but the maintenance is very good, everything is at a great condition. We stayed at La Superba (Presidential Suite), the suite is amazing, very spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated, the bathroom is modern and elegant, toiletries (Etro) are amazing. Breakfast is good, staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great, close to shops and restaurants. Only down side is the noice, you can hear people on the streets at night and even people upstairs.     Great location in one of the main shopping streets. That about it what this hotel has going for it. Tiny rooms are basic, bed is hard and you hear constant traffic noise through the leaking windows. Bathroom is dirty and water in the shower doesn’t drain. Staff is clueless and guides you to wrong places, acts defensive when confronted. There has to be better options on Genoa.
