Lovely inn in a gorgeous location!

    rating21 Nov 2025

My husband and I stayed at this charming inn right after the season ended (early November). It was very nice, very comfortable, and looked a lot like the pictures listed on their advertising. The inn is located fairly close to the giant statue of Neptune, which is carved into the rock that juts out into the ocean. It was damaged during WWII, but the history of the statue is fascinating. We didn't realize that the ocean view room that we reserved was in a different building about a block away and up a little hill. Then we needed to walk up several stairs. I realize that if you're coming to Cinque Terre then you probably know that you'll be walking hills. It wasn't difficult for us, but if you have mobility issues, the ocean view room would be hard. Breakfast was very nice! They had a lovely assortment pastries, breads with jams and honey, tortes, fruits, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, ham, cheese, juices, etc. The sweet girl working in the mornings made my husband double cappuccinos each day! The people we met who were working the desk were very friendly. The only problem that we had was that the room didn't have enough paper goods (TP, facial tissue), There were no refills in the any of the drawers, and when I let the staff know, they immediately told housekeeping to stock our room with these items. However the maids did not follow through. By the time we got back from dinner, the office had closed. We didn't get much sleep, because we had a very unpleasant night not being able to use the bathroom. Again, the front desk staff were wonderful, but just make sure that your room is well stocked before you go out for the evening.

Wonderful base for the Cinque Terre.

    rating20 Oct 2025

Absolutely charming hotel at the end of the new part of Monterosso. Tastefully decorated like a beach house, the place I has a really peaceful atmosphere. A great base to explore the Cinque Terre and wonderful to return to after facing the crowds in the other Cinque Terre towns. The service was friendly and helpful. Thanks Claudia. It’s a short walk to the train station and Monterosso old town.

AVOID - BAIT AND SWITCH HOST - DO NOT BOOK

    rating15 May 2025

Super disappointed in this hotel. I booked a “family apartment” 5 months in advance which came with a loft and two double beds to sleep 4. I was sent photos and told it was the only room left for the dates I wanted.Deposit was left, final fee paid, and confirmation done before leaving home.Upon arrival we were shown to a very small room with 2 twin beds, sleeps 2. So small you cn barely move and no place to put luggage. Although there were only 2 of us, we like our space which is why we booked the room we did.I emailed the host, and next morning saw her. I mentioned the room we were given did not at all match the photos in the room we booked, she claimed we were “upgraded”! Seriously???? A spacious room that sleeps 4 is now “upgraded” to a super tiny room that sleeps 2 and is advertised on their website as a “standard”, ie the cheapest smallest lowest end room they have!!???!!!I said no,that wasn’t an upgrade it was a DOWNGRADE but sadly as expected the host didn’t budge and had all the leverage since I had already paid in full at that point.Other problems with room - this room is the Cuun room:- room has terrible odor - a/c turns on but does not cool room or circulate air (probably a factor in the odor problem)- car parking is way offsite - a 5-10 minute walk uphill in some closed garage in a private building that looks like someone lives there. Very sketchy. Extremely difficult to drive in town due to narrow streets and very acute turns.- surfaces of tables (super small) all had greasy finish - we noticed after putting something down that the bottom was full of grease. Both tables like that so we were not able to use the tables without damaging our items. Seems like some problem with the furniture polish.- no ice available for when one of our family had an injury and needed ice.- also note that no one is ever at the desk other then breakfast service. Poor customer service all around!DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! There are other poor reviews with rooms being switched but I thought that was due to 3rd party booking sites. I booked DIRECT with the property and even had received photos of what my room was supposed to look like. The host even tried to justify her actions by calling a clear downgrade an upgrade! No communication was received prior to arrival that we were being pushed into a subpar room. I confirmed the room days in advance.I have travelled extensively for decades and never had this bait and switch problem when booking direct. Shame on the host. Do not patronize this establishment!

    Very happy we chose this

    rating18 Oct 2024

We changed to this hotel from one our travel agent picked originally because it was closer to the center of town. The reception when we arrived was most gracious; we were offered water after our journey. Since we had requested a room with a sea view, we were escorted to a different location and the room was on the third floor. It was the room pictured with this review. The nice surprise was the covered balcony surrounded by beautiful flowers. Breakfast was served in the main building with the same gracious hospitality. Management was very welcoming, helpful, and accommodating. This hotel is located 10 minutes walking distance from the train station.

Do not book the Annex it’s a scam

    rating20 Jul 2024

Booked this hotel based on its proximity to the beach, we had the “annex” room and I found it difficult to get much information about this, when we arrived we realised why!!! The annex is a converted garage 500m up the road from the hotel, the mezzanine gets so hot that we had to have the AC on freezing for my girls to sleep up there while we froze on the ground floor, not ideal. If I’d know this was the case with the room being so far away I wouldn’t have chosen this property, disappointed to say the least!
