    Fantastic Hotel - great location, great service, great rooms, great view and great food. If you are going to Rapallo Italy this is the best hotel to stay at. The General Manager has really made this a 5 star hotel - well done and thank you. Our stay in May for 5 nights was absolutely wonderful!

    The receptionist was really rude, the elevator didn’t work properly, the pillows were old and the windows didn’t have acoustic insulation so you will hear all the outside noise. As we were hearing too much noise while we were in room trying to rest and it was really late in the night, we decided to call Maurizio the receptionist to ask him about the loud music. His answer was: “I don’t give a sh*t that you cannot rest you shouldn’t have come to rapallo in august. Rapallo is like Ibiza” and he hanged up the phone. The saddest thing is that by hiring people so unprofessional like Maurizio, they show how little they care about the guests.

    Loud and rude front desk sadly to an otherwise very cute town

    Very disappointed. On a Tuesday night in August the next door bar had an outdoor dance party that was exceptionally loud till 1 am. All of the hotel rooms face the courtyard, so the whole hotel was exposed to the noise. The room was literally shaking. I went to the front desk a bit after midnight and they told me this is normal and if I want quiet I should stay in France. I am from the States, so not having a noise ordinance was new to me. I realize they can’t control the bar but at least notify their customers as this ruined our stay.

    Best value on the Italian Riviera

    Firstly Rapallo is the best location to stay on the Italian Riviera (Liguria). Even if you can afford to stay in Portofino! Rapallo is where Italians go to holiday. Right from the start communication from Hotel Miramare was excellent even with the language difference (special mention of Emmanuel the manager). They offered us a choice of rooms and we chose 502 on the top floor with a bath. The other options on lower floors had balconies. The room was large and overlooked the piazza and beach and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is directly opposite the Ferry quay to Santa Margarita and Portofino. It is 5mins walk to the train station. We had free breakfast which was served in their nice restaurant overlooking the bay. All the staff were friendly and professional. The hotel has a lovely old “grand epoch” feel (and I mean that in a good way) including a cool old central lift. We didn’t have a car but I think the hotel does have some reserved spaces out front. Noise isn’t too much of a problem with excellent double glazing. WiFi is free throughout the hotel but a bit patchy with download speeds, not a problem if your not working.     This is NOT a 4 star hotel

    This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. At best a 3 star…prices however are very high and don’t reflect the level of the place. Incredibly thin walls and doors (you can basically hear everything from the corridors and between rooms), in urgent need of a refurbishment, old elevator often gets stuck between the floors, very poor breakfast and service in general. Only positive is the location, but once again do not recommend overall as definitely overpriced.
