The place is wonderful, it's a pity it's neglected.

    rating11 Sept 2026

We stayed in this place, and I would like to illustrate the points that are not consistent with what is seen in the description and photos. The place has great potential, it's a pity that it is neglected everywhere, starting from the immense green area; furthermore, the staff is absent, and when faced with the problem that the power had gone out, they told us to manage on our own, with us going to another house to flip the switches.Furthermore, the photos present are ONLY of the main house; all the other apartments are not photographed, and here was our first discovery: that the apartment not only did not correspond to the photos, but the furniture is terrible, spartan, two things put there just because; furthermore, dirty walls in the upper part, chandeliers with mold, and spiderwebs and dead spiders found really often, and closets full of ants and dirty cutlery.Furthermore, as soon as I arrived at the entrance door, there was a sign showing that one of the four burners didn't work; entering the kitchen area, we found the "sofa bed," which is nothing more than a single bed from which you remove the cushions, nothing special. Also, to turn on the air conditioner, you have to connect the cable on the opposite side, leaving the wire on the ground in front of the entrance; in the courtyard, there was a tablecloth faded by the sun on the table, the fence had two holes, and we had to keep our small dog tied up in the yard; furthermore, the gate closed with a rubber band. The evening lighting is TERRIBLE, and by terrible, I mean that from the gate to the houses, it is 500 meters without a light, without anything, and in the evening, it is not pleasant to drive inside a pine forest in complete darkness; there were two miserable hangers in the closets, and the closets were broken with missing pieces. The Wi-Fi signal is poor, my windows face the neighbor's courtyard, which makes it difficult for me to keep them open, so I have to stay in the dark (3 out of 3 windows), the toilet paper holder was wobbly, the shower was poorly sealed and therefore leaked, the toilet seat was wobbly, and the smell of sewage came out when the fan was turned on.The potential is there, and a lot of it, both for the beauty of the place and for the immensity of this area; it's a pity that it is really very neglected, the staff is absent, and the few people who are there are not helpful, and some are even rude. Nice Place to Stay

    rating04 Aug 2024

We initially had an issue with our accommodation but the lovely manager allocated us 15a and 15b which are right at the end of the property and very spacious and quiet. There was air-conditioning in 15 which was a godsend in the heat. There is a nice outdoor area with a terrace and a table. The kitchen was equipped with a stove and oven as well as a fridge/freezer but be aware there is no microwave. Plenty of parking. The location is very good for the lovely beach although I do recommend driving to the parking area and then walking the rest of the way. Location is excellent for exploring the surrounding areas and we had a wonderful time. We are definitely thinking about coming back to the same location. Do be aware that wifi is only available in front of residence number 5 so you will need to rely on mobile data although we found reception to be a little patchy. Otherwise very enjoyable and comfortable.

    Over priced and undercleaned.

We went in a large group and all agreed, the place was run-down and in need of maintenance and cleaning. After booking in, there was no sight of the managers unless you hunted them down. There is no private beach, it is a public beach too far away from the crowds for people to bother making the journey for. Despite that, it was a great holiday. There is lots to do in the region.

A week in a gorgeous location

Katia, the Director, is one of the most professional and experienced hotel managers I' ve met during my 30 years of expat professional life. After a long standing career with last 10 years working in one of the most famous hotels in Seychelles, for personal reasons she decided to go back to her home town and chose to work at Canova II for her love for nature . . . in fact Canova II is a Tuscanian type lodge / farm in the middle of a protected natural park . . . . a bit like being staying at Kruger National Park lodge in South Africa. Katia was the first think that made our staying perfect. The 26 apartments of the property are all different in size and layout. They are duly comfortable however overly spartane, with forniture that should definitely be revamped after 30 years . . . some of the apartments are equipped with A/C.Toilettes have been revamped and are perfect. Walking distance from the beach. You can see foxes, wild pigs , deers and other mediterranean game.Prices are ok, definitely not too expensive for the location.

Nice clean rooms with good basic facilities. The surroundings are amazing....if peace, tranquility and an uncrowded beautiful beach are amongst your requirements then this is for you. We really loved it
