  If you truly want a romantic stay and atmosphere, with somewhat higher standard - this is not the place to visit.It is worn out, both rooms and surrounding areas. Cleaning was not the best. For example, in our bathroom above bidet, they had very unfortunately placed a towel rack, which had several stains of feces left on it.It was disgusting.We planned to stay for4 nights but checked out and left after 2. The front desk people didn't handle our checkout professional at all.In relation to the money we paid, this is the worst ever hotel we visited. There are much better places to live in at Ischia. We sincerely apologize if, in your case, something did not reflect this routine, and we will investigate with our staff to understand what happened.That said, we kindly point out that if you had immediately informed the **reception**, we would have promptly offered either an extra cleaning or a room change, in order to quickly remedy the situation and improve your stay. Unfortunately, learning about your dissatisfaction only afterwards did not give us the chance to take action. Even at check-out, we were told that the stay had gone well, apart from your decision to leave earlier, which makes it more difficult for us to use the opportunity to improve.We are also surprised to read such a harsh comment about our staff, who are usually very much appreciated by our guests for their **professionalism and helpfulness**.We truly hope you may give us another opportunity in the future to let you experience the positive atmosphere that represents the real essence of our Borgo.

  Me and my husband stayed for 7 days, everything was perfect, so where to start? The staff probably - you feel like home, especially alle the people in the restaurant are willing to make your day. The food is luxurious, wide range of possibilities. Pools allways clean, water gym was not just gym but fun as well. Rooms always impeccable. Cicadas really friendly, calming. I cannot mention even one flaw - there were none!

  Truly Italian vacation!

  The hotel is beautifully integrated into the landscape and the panoramic view of a fascinating hill, overlooking charming Sant'Angelo. The food is delicious, served at any time of day in a different one of the three restaurants. I recommend the HB option, because dinner is truly Italian, a four-course served meal, with a different menu every day. You don't even have to go down to Sant'Angelo for lunch – the Capricci restaurant serves top-quality dishes. You can also have lunch at the bar by the thermal pools. Live music is offered three times a week in the evening. Besides that, you can enjoy the tranquility of the view, admiring the mountainous, almost tropical landscape and the thermal baths. The thermal water in some of the pools is truly hot. You can book numerous treatments at the SPA. The hotel boasts a 60-year history, but it's clear and constantly renovated. There are significant elevation changes, but there are also hotel shuttle buses. And last but not least: the staff are wonderful! The service is exceptionally professional and friendly. We were treated to many kind gestures. It was a truly Italian vacation!

  Expensive Resort refurb needed

  The homepage and the socia media photos have nothing to do with reality. It might be that the resort was up to date in the 80ths or 90ths but not today. We had booked 5 rooms - in none of the rooms the room phone was working, so it was not possible to call the shuttle service to bring us to the breakfast room nor ask for room service. As the rooms were all situated in bungalows across the area up on a hill, you needed a shuttle service especially for handicapped people or if you are too exhausted to climb all the way up. Although we had booked the exclusive package including the daily entrance fee for the thermal area, we were still asked to pay seperately for the swimming pool. The receptionist told me to use my own mobile phone to call the shuttle service, which is a joke as this costs money each time you make a call. No sorry or any kind of offering from her side. Quite often nobody was coming after I called, so I had to go up to the reception to ask them once again to pick up the whole family. The metal elements in the bathrooms were rusty and needed urgent replacement. The booked rooms with seaview where rooms with no see view. You had to go outside on your balcony and turn right to see (with electric cables in front of you) a little glimpse of the sea, and I am talking about the most expensive rooms in this resort. The breakfast buffet was the same experience, no fresh orange juice, disgusting coffee and it did not matter at what time you showed up, the buffet was half empty, you had to go to the kitchen and insist that they have to bring you some bread, croissants or whatever. It had more an atmosphere of a nursering home than a hotel resort. The servants had no idea of cross contamination or hygiene - for example the girl from the kitchen team came out every morning patting the big labrador dog which was jumping up, paws in her lap, to lick her face and she wasn‘t changing her apron nor washing her hands afterwards before touching the food on the buffet. I love dogs don’t get me wrong, but I always wash my hands before touching food. In the kitchen they were refilling mineral water bottles with paper labels on it from the tap so that the customers where getting the impression these were fresh opened sealed bottles. These bottles were refilled without cleaning them before, so we could all image giving the outside temperatures, how many microbes and bacteria were inside this bottle water. It was really a pity as this holiday was costing us a fortune and should have been a special treat for everybody. Instead my two nieces had several days stomach problems and had to stay in bed vomiting and feeling really bad. I am not describing the thermal area, you can image how old it looked like and I decided not to go into the pools being afraid I could catch a fungal infection or something else. Please close this resort and give it a big refurb! Our website and social media reflect the current state of the resort, and we’re unsure what elements specifically prompted your comments, which unfortunately come across as unconstructive and unclear.Room Layout and Shuttle Service: Our rooms are spread across a hillside parkland – this is part of the charm of staying in a true Ischian "borgo". We do offer a shuttle from the hotel to Sant’Angelo village, not for internal transport from rooms to the restaurant or pools. The internal walking distance is minimal (often less than 50 meters), and clearly indicated on our website.Private Shuttle Confusion: The phone number provided to you was for an external, private shuttle service to Sant’Angelo, not for internal hotel use. This is clearly explained during check-in and in all communications. We regret this was misunderstood.Thermal Park Access: The package you booked included full access to the Romantica Thermal Park, with 12 out of our 13 pools available. The remaining area – Sinphonia Spa – is a premium wellness path and clearly indicated as a separate paid service. Suggesting otherwise seems like an excuse.Room Category and Sea View: The rooms you booked were not our most expensive suites. Sea views vary by category, and had you simply asked, we would have gladly shown you alternative options during your stay. Posting complaints only after leaving doesn’t allow us the chance to help in real time.Breakfast & Beverages: Our breakfast buffet is widely praised for its variety and freshness. While we do not include freshly squeezed orange juice as part of the buffet, guests can order it at the bar. We offer four types of juices, including blood orange and regular orange.Hygiene and Staffing: Your claims regarding the presence of a dog and a female staff member handling food are entirely false.At that time we do not employ any female kitchen staff, and pets are never allowed in our food preparation. Our hygiene protocols meet the highest hospitality standards.Finally, we are sorry to read about the health issues of your nieces, but none of our other guests reported any concerns during the same period. Your request for a discount was unfortunately not supported by any valid reason.We take feedback seriously, but we also value fairness and truth.   Nice spacious resort

  nice resort in the town of St Angeles. many therma pools but not so warm. wish they were warmer. Breakfast was great. wifi as quite bad but I guess most wifi in italy hotels and resorts were? location was good. housekeeping staff were very good and did a great job. wish the resort flourish and and refurbished their rooms so I will come back again. overall was happy with the resort Alessia Peraro, Direttore generale at Borgo Romantica - Resort & Spa, responded to this review Dear Belgiantourist1987, thanks for your feedback we are happy you had a gret time at the romantica resort. We will check the pool temperatures. All of them are different and outside there is a signal with all the information. The same for the wifi normally it works good but we will check again. We have different kind of rooms and categories and all of them are different. Next time if you are not happy with the style please ask the reception for another room, many are fresh refurbished.
