  Beautiful Views and Thermal spa pools but food and service very disappointing

  Be prepared for a very long tiring journey traveling by plane to Naples, taxi to the ferry, ferry to Ischia, taxi to hotel (which can’t even take u to the hotel itself and you have to pay 8€ for a taxi service to get u there due to the roads not being wide enough for cars)We then arrived at Hotel Apollon to be given a classic room with no sea view and a small balcony, when we had actually paid for a supreme deluxe double room with balcony and sea view’s. We went to reception to complain to the staff who said they had no deluxe rooms left! WHAT!!! We then had to call TUI as there were no TUI reps on site to help (who thankfully got us a premium room the next day) this totally ruined the first 3 days of our holiday.The food is very average, NO PIZZAS! lots of rabbit, mussels and clams on the menu.Breakfast was terrible, not a very well stocked buffet. Flies and wasps all over the meat, cheese, fruit and cakes (the cakes that had been left from the night before’s dessert)!And then to top it all you get charged a service charge at lunch time for using the cutlery even though you are actually staying at their hotel!!!!!!

  Loved this hidden resort. Not luxurious but a great laid back beach vibe close to the village

  Personally we loved this laid back beach resort. The apartment we had included a decent size balcony with a gorgeous sea view. Room very basic, missing shower fitting but absolutely spotless. Safe worked. Mini bar, really should have pricing details if automatically filling and refilling each day, there was no mention of cost and you do get a bill at the end, which is fine, we used it so fair enough, but would probably have been better to have an informed choice as 5 euro for a small glass bottle of coke is a little steep. Very hilly and lots of stairs so not for the unfit. Thermal pools AMAZING !! hotel grounds tidy and clean, it is a very beach vibe and relaxed place. Golf cart service was great too and from the village and walk back in the evening after the service stopped was nice, yes hilly but lovely views. Food. Breakfast basic and just right for us. Fresh fruit, yogurt, cakes, breads to cut and toast, delicious cakes (husband was happy) boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon and lovely fresh coffee served properly and not out of a machine. Fresh juices, delicious. Not to mention the views from the terrace, wow !!! Lunch menu was delicious with plenty of options, salads were unreal, club sandwich was a hit and seafood, pasta etc. Evening meal: we did this one night assuming it was a menu as it is at lunch. No it is not, this is where the half board food is served and we had to pay for this of course as we were not half board. Very basic and honestly not that enjoyable, so we were disappointed in this as we just wanted the option of a nice meal at hotel. The wine was lovely but the overall bill was expensive compared to all other meals we had over the week and in our opinion not worth it. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting laid back lifestyle on holiday. Sant' Angelo is simply beautiful and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Bus service is right outside the village to get you over the island, busy buses and a bit manic, but part of the fun. Don't go thinking 4 star standards in the luxury sense. We were well looked after, beautiful location. Private beach off the terrace at bar area is perfect, small but sandy beach with the clearest water for swimming. It is rustic in the right way if that is your thing, if you want a luxury spa experience then no I would not suggest this hotel. Would I return? absolutely

  Beautiful surroundings and place to visit. The hotel does offer free transfers to its sister hotel which helps navigate this part of the island, but everywhere you walk it is hard work due to its gradients. Unless you want to spend 4 Euros PP this is not a place for older or unfit people. We booked a superior room, which was lovely, but it was a difficult walk to and from the hotel, with no taxi. There is also not much to do, so this is a sunbathing, Spa pool and sea holiday. The Spa is expensive so we didn’t use it. Our room safe didn’t work and the replacement was never fixed to the wall, despite reporting it 4 times. I was forced to carry a backpack all week with our valuables and camera kit.Food was OK but nothing special. We very quickly found a cafe on the beach we preferred, especially considering cost. We had a nice week off, but I wouldn’t return.

  Food was terrible. Beach was awful. No where near worth the money. Would not go back and would not recommend to anyone. Shower leaked. Lights had wires hanging out. All round was very poor and disappointing . I recommend this place is avoided.

  We were rather disappointed with this hotel from various aspects . Firstly the charge of 15€ to bring us to to the hotel having paid 55€ to a taxi from the port - impossible to walk with suitcases at our age (70’s) . The room was lovely and our maid Lili a gem ! Breakfast was the same day in day out and unimpressive. No true dining room - cater for half board customers only . A bit of a Marie Celeste in the evening to be honest. Lifeguard insisted we wore bands ! Sunbeds not monitored so towels left for hours on unoccupied beds . Building itself looks rather run down - needs updating. Private beach is the tiniest strip of sand - basically sea access .
