    We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Hotel Don Felipe. The property sits on the hillside overlooking the Gulf of Naples, Castello Aragonese, and Capri off in the distance. The views were amazing. It’s located in a very safe, quiet neighborhood. The hotel is easily accessible from Ischia Porto by bus or taxi and the hotel can quickly arrange a taxi for you at a moments notice. The shops and restaurants of Ischia Ponte, including the castle, are a quick 10-minute walk downhill.The room was comfortable, clean and charming. We stayed on the lowest level and had a nice terrace right above the pool. I don’t believe there is a “bad” room at the hotel. Service was exceptional - the staff were friendly and ready to help. We enjoyed drinks and snacks on from the hotel terrace bar and had a very nice, simple breakfast - with plenty of options, including every variety of Italian coffee you can think of - each morning in the breakfast room.This property is a terrific value! Unless you absolutely require 5-star amenities, you won’t be disappointed.

    The staff, the views and the Island are all 5 star! This hotel is wonderful, very well priced for what you get. My room was quiet, well sized and spotless. From the moment we arrived at the port, the hotel staff met us and looked after our every need until dropping us back to the port to leave. So incredibly friendly and kind, they were fantastic!

    We had 4 nights at Hotel Don Felipe with no complaints. Drop dead beautiful view from our room which was very clean. The hotel is located 20 minute walk from Ischia Ponte which is a lovely smaller version of the Port with restaurants and bars. The walk is hilly and the hotel has steps but at least you can eat what you want because it will be walked off easily.The staff were very friendly and a beautiful roof top bar. Swimming at a Lido can be arranged for by the hotel but you will need to pay.

    Great Hotel for our first visit to Ischia

    The Hotel staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. They were able to arrange transfers from the ferry port and gave us advice on the local bus service. Breakfast had the usual sweet Italian fayre plus eggs (boiled and scrambled) bacon and a selection of meats and cheese, fruit, yoghurt and a selection of juices (my fav was the Italian orange lemon and carrot juice). Bean to cup coffee machine is ok but obviously not up to Italian coffee shop standards. Ischia is hilly and the hotel is set over several floors terraced over the hill side. This means lots of steps up to reception but staff will assist with bags if needed. Once up there most facilities are easy to access but worth considering if there are mobility issues. Pool is quite small but big enough to cool off on a hot day. Loungers by the pool are limited but this is not a problem if people use them when they are there and dont try to leave a towel down and go off for the day. Additional loungers on the top deck bar area.Terrace bar is a treat with fantastic views of the castle, a great place to enjoy a drink and snack.Rooms were clean and had all we needed including a mini fridge and safe. Rooms were cleaned every day, our room had a sea view with the island of Capri visible.We really enjoyed our stay and felt able to relax here more than past visits in other hotels. We would return without any second thoughts.

    While the view was amazing, we stayed in a hotel too far from anything. Felt isolated and didn't even have a beach and pool was in shade and tiny. Staff were super nice and helpful.
