    Peaceful Hotel

    Lovely reception and room with terrace and table looking out over lemon trees. Plastic sheet under sheet on bed disconcerting and noisy whenever we moved. Refurbished room was great in this peaceful hotel, walking distance from the town.Let us have a good brekky with coffee, croissants, meat and cheese half hour early so we could get the ferry.

    "La Marticana" is a charmy and delighful corner in Ischia Porto, away from the madden croud, but very near to the bus place and the Ferry port. It is a small Villa with 15 rooms, in the middle of a wonderful garden. It is not a place, but a space. They give you the keys of your room and, when you come back, the garden is going to embrace you, with its plants, flowers, lemon and citron trees: a coolness that welcomes you after hours under the sun and in the water, tirering at the end of a hole day. Very kind owners will suggest you where to go, and which bus to take to reach several places and restaurants. A vacantion that you will never forget!

    The hotel was very clean, very quiet, maintained every day, nice breakfast, delicious coffee, very close to the city center and the harbour. Personnel and owner were very friendly.     Awful hotel, noisy location

    One of the worst, unfriendliest hotels I’ve stayed in. Hotel is next to a busy road and very noisy with traffic. The gardens looked nice in the photos but in actual fact they are scruffy and not looked after (with pools of stagnant water). The air conditioning in the stuffy room did not work (“only from June”) even though this facility was advertised on the hotel booking website. We were advised to find another hotel when we complained but the hotel would not refund us. lamarticana, Direttore vendite at La Marticana, responded to this review "Dear" guest,thank you for giving us the chance to let everybody know what kind of "guest" you are, using your words I would say "one of the worst, unfriendliest clients we have ever had". But let's clarify everything step by step.About the busy road, did you notice you booked in Ischia and not in Manhattan? What kind of traffic you found? I can agree with you on one thing: you need to relax, next time I suggest you Tibet, is a magical place for relaxing.About the garden and the "pool": we do not have pool and all the guests (except you, obviously) can easily see it from all the portals and our website. The pool you mention is just a small box we use it for our fishes but of course it's not a pool for the guests. Let me draw it to you next time.Air conditioning: the facility is advertised for the Comfort Rooms and you booked a Standard one but of course, since you came only for one night just to create problems you didn't read it - or you didn't want to read it. Most of all, in Ischia we have rain and low temperatures in these days due to bad weather conditions: I think you were the only one in the whole island asking for air conditioning. Last but not least, our hotel is not a prison: if you were so unhappy you were totally free to go and, of course, without refund since you made a mistake in booking your hotel, not us.Best regardsLa Marticana - Direzione
