  Great value with stunning views and service

  This is the second time we have stayed at Hotel Villa Franz and we love it. It's perfectly located on the Island if you want peace and quiet and has a small beach called Fumarole beach right down the hill. The location is perfect for us where we are agile and can walk, however it's up the hill and offer incredible sea views but might be tricky to access for older/less fit people. The rooms are clean and neat, you have your own balcony with stunning views and the vibe is just chill, perfect for couples or solo travellers. The breakfast is delicious with homemade cakes and marmelades and the couple who runs it super friendly and speak several languages. We been so happy with everything and just how peaceful and homely it feels, it's family run and you can just tell it feels like home away from home ( with better beaches, weather and food) for the value and price this is an absolute gem!

  It is not easy to reach the hotel because it is on the hill but you have wonderful views from your room or restaurant and you are surrounded by beautiful plants.Do not miss home baked cakes and marmalade made by owner Carmen.Room was basic but we were happy to stay because of very worm welcome of the owners.   Best hotel in Sant' Angelo

  Pros:-magical views from each room ( seaside and sant'angelo)-Great balconies to relax on-Very friendly owner (she speaks English and fluent German)-2 minutes walk from the beach-Very quiet-Great food (we had full board)-Very reasonably pricedCons/pros:No elevator so you get a good work out to climb up and downOverall, lovely experience.   Healthy and quiet

  Hotel situated in the quiet place about 15 minutes walk by nice hilly road from the center of San-Angelo. San-Angelo is up and down hills which can train your legs and backside very properly. So - you will come back home very strong and healthy. Beauty - 2 minutes walk from hotel there are Aphrodite Gadens (SPA thermal park) and you can use it. Food - You will be limited in terms of food choice -you can eat in Hotel or in restaurant nearby. Not the best restaurant in SA, for sure. To get to nice eat-places you need to take a walk to the center. You can take electrocar as well. The streets are so narrow - so only electrocar can take you there - about 3-5-9 euros one way. The center of SA is very nice - try ice-cream, go for pizza in pizzeria DePascal - the best one I know. Beach - it is crowded near the hotel, but you can take a sandy 5-10 minutes walk and get more comfortable.To conclude, it is not about hotel - we only slept in a hotel. My review is mostly about San Angelo as a place for vacation. And this place is mostly for your health and spa, but not for sea and beach..

  This was my third trip to Ischia, and for me, this friendly family-run hotel is in the best location on the island - close to the gorgeous town of Sant'Angelo, and a stone's throw from the famous volcanic "Fumarole" beach, onto which it has spectacular views from its bar and dining areas, as well as from its rooms.To get there we caught the fast boat from Naples to the port of Forio, then had an easy 20-25 min bus ride to Sant'Angelo. We then called the hotel, who sent an electric taxi to pick us up with our baggage and take us along the narrowest roads I've ever seen. We only used the taxis for our arrival and departure with our luggage. The rest of the time we walked between the hotel and Sant'Angelo, as the road has the most stunning views of the sea and the Maronti bay, as well as of Sant'Angelo itself.Not only is it great value, but this is a really super hotel! The welcome we received from Carmen, Gennaro, Pina and Vicenzo was warm and genuine, and it was clear that they are passionate about what they do. Our room was simple and clean, with excellent beds and a quality of bed and bathroom linen that we would only have expected from a hotel in a much higher category. The room also had a good sized terrace with fabulous views of the sea. We really couldn't have asked for more - in fact we loved it so much we stayed for 5 nights instead of the 3 nights we had originally planned. During our stay we ate in a couple of evenings and tried Pina's and Vincenzo's home cooking, which is not only excellent, but is also excellent value. The breakfasts, too, with home made cakes and jams, as well as warm pastries, were unmissable.My only regret is that had we known we were staying longer, I would have taken advantage of the hot sand baths on the Fumarole beach below the hotel, which are great for aches and pains. The next time we go back, and we will, the lovely Franco's "sabbiature" will definitely be on the "to do" list!! Grazie Villa Franz e a presto!!!!!
