  Good hotel, kind people and great location and view

  The rooms are big and very bright. Big windows, we had an amazing view too in the volcano. Rooms are well isolated so you dont hear too many noices from the outside. Location is really good, between the center and the sea. With a view on the view from the front. Breakfast is fine, in a cozy room. People that work here are kind and helpful. We will definitly come back again!

  Island chalet with beach AND volcano view!

  The perfect beach chalet to get away from it all and enjoy being on the (safe) side of an active volcano. The chalet we rented was clean, very amenable and helpful staff and great wifi and comfortable beds.

  Lovely place to stay

  The Ossidiana is a great place to stay on Stromboli.Starting with their location, right off the port and located next to the main road giving direct access to the village. From there it is a 20 minute walk to the hiking trails.The staff are as always extremely attentive and friendly on arrival and throughout the stay. They were able to offer us advice and support throughout even when we were faced with transport cancellations at the end of our trip.During our stay this year we had a room upgrade which was great as we had a sea view terrace which we enjoyed in the late autumn evenings. This made us extremely happy and made our holiday so much better.The room is kitted with safes, a mini bar that is refreshed daily, towels refreshed when required but pay mind that the island is limited resource wise so keep in mind the washing of towels for them.Breakfast is offered in the mornings with a decent selection.Coming to Ossidiana for the past years has always been a pleasure and will continue to be in the future.

  Perfect Island Hotel

  Best location on the island. Staff were superb and the room was spotless. A short walk from everything and while a little old school in parts it gives the feeling of island life. Excellent breakfast in a beautiful setting. Make sure to walk down the black beach, absolutely sensational.

  OSSIDIANA=A DISASTER

  Do not stay at the Ossidiana Hotel. We had a terrible experience there and want to warn people about the problems. 1. We were traveling with 34 architecture students to Stromboli and required separate beds for each student. They put the students in double beds with shared sheets and bedspreads. The students did not complain and we only learned of this on our last of three days there. They had no intention to accommodate us or apologize. They simply blamed us for not informing them on time. The problem is that they could not have fixed it because they were fully booked, mostly with us.2. They deducted 4000 euro from my bank account by mistake. When I pointed this out to them they agreed only to return 2300 /Euro, telling me that there was a “penalty” for our having changed arrival dates (changed well in advance of our arrival). Their website specifically states that they do not charge cancellation penalties. The gave me the run around trying to meet with someone in person, were completely unresponsive to my emails, and eventually just ghosted me. I had no recourse whatsoever to protest this amount because they simply ignored me. With a tight budget running this study away program the extra amount they charge me cut deeply into our thin finances. We were completely defenseless to protect ourselves.3. The rooms are incredibly small, require serious renovation, and have terrible mattresses. My husband and I did not have space for our luggage or even to pass each other in fhe front of the bed. Our room only had a door to a 5’X5’ “courtyard” of solid walls and no view to the outside world4. The desk staff was unpleasant in response to complaints that were voiced politely, causing discussions to escalate quickly. The lack of respectful customer service was appalling. 5. The complete unresponsiveness to my emails and pleading to speak with someone about their math error was terribly rude and stressful. I finally just had to take the 1, 700 Euro loss and move on. You are helpless and vulnerable to these predatory tactics.BE WARNED. DON’T STAY THERE. Take a taxi to a hotel or BnB farther away from the port to get a nicer, closer beach, and a more pleasant holiday. OSSIDIANA e' un DISASTRO!
