  A little piece of paradise

  Everything about this place shines. The views, tha staff, the facilities, the food at the restaurant, all 5 star.We had 2 very relaxing days, with a massage each day.   Potentially a wonderful boutique type hotel but on this occassion it was lacking attention to detail for the price paid

  Beautiful location, stunning views,and excellent dinner in the evening by the pool. However despite all of this I would say it was not good value for money. The service overall could be much better for what is suppose to be a boutique type hotel. We encountered the following problems :1. Mix up over the order for breakfast. My husband ordered scrambled eggs and salmon one morning and was brought eggs benedict instead. He was offered a replacement with the correct order but by the time the mix up had been brought to the attention of the member of staff it was all a bit too late. 2. My hasband ordered a couple of drinks and nibbles at the poolside bar. He was told they'd be brought over to our sunbeds. There was a small circular table at the sun longer immediatley next to us which was full of used glasses and empty bottles that hadn't been cleared away. The obvious thing to have done would be to clear the small table, bring it over and use it to put our drinks and nibbles on but instead we were literally handed them whilst laying on our sun lounges. Other than the floor there was no where else to put them. No offer of a side table was made and when I asked if we could have a table we were brought a dining table that was far too high? We ended up moving from our sun loungers and sitting at one of the dining room tables which wasn't our intention nor the most relaxing way to enjoy our aperitiv!3. The Junior Suite we were in could have been cleaner. We noticed one of the wooden floor boards had a gap which I caught my heal in and the frame around the bathroom door was lose. The glass windows at the front were in need of a good clean and despite asking upon our arrival if the glass could be cleaned it wasn't at anytime during our 3 night stay. When the beds were turned down for the evening it looked like no attempt had been made to puff the pillows as they were flat and dishelved. The room was full of insects which didn't help with the bites acquired in the night! Not surprising though, as when my husband returned to the room whilst it was being serviced one evening, he found the front door wide open attracting all the insects in!We love Italy and all it offers but sadly on this occasion for the price paid we were left disappointed. The hotel is in a lovely location, the staff were pleasant (although lacking in a little attention to detail as described above) and the food served in the evening was delicious. We may have just been unfortunate but sadly we won't be returning.

  Wonderful and quiet hide-away with breath-taking view over the bay of La Spezia.Perfect for couples... :-))Not so overtraveld as the area of cinque-terre, west of La Spezia and therefor much more romantic. Many good hiking possibilities in the region around Montemarcello!

  A truly outstanding property with the best service

  One of the finest experiences we have had at any hotel ever and we have stayed at some of the best ones in the world. This gem of a boutique hotel is located on a beautiful spot in Liguria overlooking the ocean. We have never had rooms with views as good as the one we got at this hotel. We went toward the end of the season, and the hotel was not crowded at all. The service because of this was magical. Every member of the staff was gracious, helpful, and kind, and made sure that every desire or request, from room service, to reservations at the spa were accommodated to perfection. We came at night when the view was nonexistent and initially was underwhelmed by the room (it is charming and rustic), but have grown to love the space and have felt extremely comfortable here. I would love to be able to control the thermostat myself from within the room, as we didn’t want to have to call the front desk for something as minimal as to turn the temperature one degree up or down, but they happily helped us out when we needed them. The outdoor jacuzzi and sauna (for reservation only) was beautiful and amazing, and their reservation system ensured privacy for the guests using it. It was genius! We also went to their indoor spa section which had steam rooms, aromatherapy rooms, saunas, and a relaxation room. This was reservation only as well which ensured privacy for us when it was our time. I’ve never seen facilities like this reserved just for a couple. The restaurant at this hotel is truly excellent, much better than anything we’ve had in Amalfi or Como. During the three times we ate there, we tried everything on the menu and it was all delicious. I would recommend to the kitchen to have a slightly different rotating menu during the week so that guests who want to stay on the property to eat have a bit of variety.They explained quite well, but the parking is about a 5 minute walk / 2 minute electric cart ride away from the resort, and we had a bit of trouble finding the secured parking area when we first arrived (at 11:30 PM the first night)Shout out to all of the staff, but especially Filippo, who was a gentle giant who was a jack of all trades and was seemingly everywhere all at once. He drove the golf cart, helped us with our bags, helped move furniture and things around the property, answered the phones after hours, and we even saw him in the kitchen helping the chef make food for us! Truly incredible!Thank you for the warm hospitality and the memorable stay. I am sure we will be back.

  Stunning Views and great experience!

  From the moment we parked our car and called for the cart to pick us up the staff all went out of their way to make us feel as though we were special to them (the staff to guest ratio was something I have never witnessed previously as it seemed there was always a staff member close by to attend to us)The views are very simply amazing and the food was some of the best we experienced in Italy!We dined in the restaurant every morning and had dinner two nights in their excellent restaurant with remarkable views. Another night we enjoyed their “Golden Hour” outdoor buffet and wine meal which I would highly recommend during pleasant weather.We reserved the outdoor spa and had a hot-tub with a view all to ourselves for an hour. Pool and outdoor lounging areas were stunning.We plan to come back again!
