  Great hotel, great location

  We loved this boutique hotel. Staff was wonderful. Location was ideal. There was a lovely lounge and bar inside, but we spent a lot of time on their great terrace. Room and bathroom were lovely and big. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others!

  On arrival in Monterrosso on Monday 28 September, vi train from Milano, we were greeted by the wonderful, intelligent gentleman Guillermo. He was so helpful and informative. The Room was splendid. The breakfast was very good. All staff were very pleasant. They provided a pitcher of water on request. It was a delightful hotel that involved about 10 minutes walking through the tunnel then up the main street. Thank you. Such a pleasure.

  Great stay in Cinque Terre

  I rarely leave hotel reviews, but the service at this hotel was so wonderful that I wanted to make sure I let everyone know. It’s a perfect place to stay when visiting Cinque Terre. The rooms are simple but well equipped, cool and comfortable. The breakfast buffet in the morning is plentiful, fresh and tasty. The location is very convenient, in the old town and close to everything. It was a great base from which to enjoy a couple of beach days and a couple of touring days, being a short walk from both the pier and the train station. We look forward to going back.

  Extremely disappointing stay and poor customer service

  We stayed at Hotel Margarita in Monterosso for three nights and, unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had.Our room was a disabled-access room with virtually no natural daylight a small window on to an alley with bars at the window, making it feel dark, brown and very gloomy. Except all night when a light was shining in from outside and the curtains did not cover the window fully. The shower flooded the bathroom floor every time it was used, which was both inconvenient and unpleasant.The toilet being for disability access was so high my feet couldn’t reach the floor. It was an economy room meant for my kids but still at £550 would have expected better. When I hung my towel on the hook in the room it fell out the wall and landed on my foot. It was fixed promptly. We were travelling as a family and had specifically requested rooms together when making the booking. We were never informed before our arrival that this would not be possible with the room configuration so it was very disappointing to discover we had been allocated rooms separately and 2 floors away. What made the experience even worse was the way our concerns were handled. The manager was rude and unhelpful, and only spoke to me over the phone rather than in person. It was clear they did not have the full details of my booking before discussing the situation. Some members of staff were also sarcastic when we raised our concerns, which left us feeling that our feedback was not being taken seriously.The hotel’s location is good, but unfortunately that was not enough to make up for the poor room, the lack of communication before our stay, and the disappointing customer service.Based on our experience, I would not choose to stay here again.

  This hotel has exceeded our expectations and we are so happy we found it. It is on the quieter side of Monterosso but also very close and easy to access all the Restaraunts, beaches, and train station. The hotel is very clean and we felt at home. The street it is on is a Main Street in town but was very cozy and quiet.
