Location

The airy perspective of the straight, tree-lined streets and the architecture of the buildings reveal the nineteenth century changes to the city layout made when La Spezia became a base for the Italian Navy in 1869. This recent history can be re-lived at the Arsenale (ship-fitting yard) and the Naval Museum, rich in relics, weaponry and model ships. The hotel faces onto the sea and is very near the railway station (about 1 km) and the port (300 m). As well as offering all the comforts of a stay in the city centre, it is the ideal starting point from which to discover the many natural attractions of the Gulf of the Poets and Cinque Terre. Genoa Airport is around 110 km away.

Facility

2 junior suites, 32 single rooms and 76 double rooms are located on 8 storeys and can be reached by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected.     Definitely Not a 4 stars hotel. We spend 3 nights mainly to see Cinque Terre. The pictures advertised are not the same as what you get. Our bedroom view had horrible graffitis outside, the corridor to get to our room had a whole in the ceiling (I wish I took a picture ) and we had to pass a “maintenance” room with all sorts of stuff in it. Poor bedding and bed uncomfortable. Bathroom is hideous. Breakfast room is like a school canteen. Staff is friendly and the location is good (10mn from the train station). I’m sure they are better hotels around.

    The room was basic but large, the bed was confortable and it was clean. The breakfast was really diverse. It was about a 10-15 minutes walk to the train station and close to the city center which was nice. My only negative was that the bathroom was way too small, the shower was so small and the shower doors were confusing and there was no place to put your own shampoo or soap. Overall a good experience, but overpriced for the experience you get.

    My daughter and I have been traveling Italy and had this hotel booked for the Cinque Terre area…Save your money and book somewhere else- The room faced a graffiti ridden inside weed garden, it was darkly lite, I did not feel safe at all! Walked in and walked out- lost money moved farther south by the water, and it was the best decision ever- I would never recommend this hotel- how it even got stars is beyond me- they would have to pay me,and I would still not go! Kudos to the PR company- save your money !

    This hotel has an excellent location, excellent breakfast and very nice, friendly and informative staff at the reception. Large and clean room.But..the beds weren't the most comfortable, the shower very small, and one elevator that was very slow and not always available.

    Basic hotel but clean and bright Staff lovely at reception , rooms basic but clean Breakfast nice .. good selection of pasteries cheese ham etcHandy spot .. central approx 10 min walk from train Good base for cinque terraand bear lots of shops and restaurants
