  Great location, poor value for money

  Pros: Great location, great bed and amazing shower. Cons: terrible service, check in was unwelcoming with staff unhelpful, our room was not ready on time, no tea bags, no milk, no conditioner. I would rather spend a bit more money for a better hotel that would provide the service and amenities you would expect.

  We were guest of the Poet Hotel for only a few days, but those days were well spent. The Hotel is quiet, modern, and very comfortable. I had some issues with my bank card (unrelated to my stay at the hotel) that required concierge support to make a couple of international calls to work through the problem. I couldn't have resolved the problem without the patient support of the competent front desk staff. They were also super helpful in other ways, such as arranging a tour, getting train tickets, restaurant recommendations, and help in so many ways. Madelin stood out as a star. She speaks 4 languages and was our go-to for everything. Thank you 😊

  Conveniently located within a 10-minute walk of La Spezia Centrale railway station, this is a comfortable modern hotel with good service. Would stay here again.

  The Poet Hotel is conveniently near the train station and is very modern (almost to a fault). Our Jr. Suite room was a good size and had a comfortable mattress (which is always a plus). Breakfast was typical fare, but get there before 10:30 because after then, the coffee was gone or cold. Hotel has no restaurant. The room was “very” trendy-modern. However it was not well lit specifically in the bathroom; dim with a small mirror. Low counters and low counter space. Towel hooks kinda far from the shower due to the pocket-door. Couldn’t really share the bathroom. Shampoo is provided but no conditioner (also bath products’ bottles were fussy to operate). Room temperature seemed difficult to maintain and we often had to open our windows to let in cool air. The light switches lacked logic (in three days we never got the hang of them). For example lighting over the bed, was controlled by the entry, whereas the entryway light switch was just outside the bathroom. The room was “nice” but with a lot of room for improvement. The luggage racks were low (very low 8 inches from the floor) , and crowded the entry. One nightstand had a plug, the other an inoperable USB plug (room 106). The staff was friendly and helpful.

  Completely modern hotel in a historic building. I loved the decoration. The staff were helpful and professional. Free drinks in chill out area.. better than staying in the room. Parking for 20€. Short walk to train station and port. Room super quiet, super clean and warm in winter months. I strongly recommend.
