  Wonderful Hotel! Highly Recommend

  This is a real gem of a hotel with wonderful staff who make your stay extra special. Lou and Cesare communicated with us via whatsapp before and during our stay and were extremely responsive and helpful.We stayed in room 8, a penthouse suite in the annexe building. It had a separate bedroom and a living area with a sofa bed, ideal when travelling with children. It was very clean with well kept modern decor and 2 large separate balconies that wrapped around the building with distant views of Lake Garda. Although described as having a kitchenette, it had a kettle and fridge handy for cold drinks and small snacks but no equipment such as plates, cutlery etc. Shutters on the windows helped to keep the rooms cool and dark, along with great air conditioning which was much needed in the heat.Each morning Giovanna warmly welcomes you to a wonderful, plentiful breakfast with a good choice of cereals, breads, hams, cheeses, fruit, yoghurts, pastries and Linda's fabulous freshly made cakes. Tea, juice and a range of coffee types are also provided. You can choose to sit inside or in the lovely courtyard area next to the pool. Without asking, when we told Lou we would need to check out early on our departure day, she said they would provide a breakfast bag for us so we could eat on the way to the airport. These little gestures make all the difference and we appreciated the kindness.The pool area was clean and well maintained and sunbeds were always available. My children were very happy playing in it, especially in the heat we were lucky enough to have. The bar serves a choice of snack type food and very reasonably priced drinks including cocktails which you can have poolside if you wish.Although not initially planned, we hired a car during our stay and found plenty of space in the hotel car park. We travelled to Verona which is not to be missed and also Lazise, Bardalino and Gardaland. For those without transport, despite being located well outside the historic centre of Sirmione, the stop for the seasonal shuttle bus is only a few minutes around the corner. It's 2 euro's per person per journey, although sometimes they didn't charge for children. You just tap on and off with a bank card. It's so much easier than having to deal with at times the parking pressure near the castle area.Overall, Hotel Gardenia was a welcome retreat where you could truly relax while still having lots of lovely authentic restaurants and shops nearby. I would highly recommend, particularly to those who want an authentic, quality and relaxing stay.

  Beautiful hotel

  We have just returned from a fab week at Hotel Gardenia. We had selected a superior triple which had a small balcony which was perfect for sitting out, with a lake view in the distance. The staff were all so lovely and friendly, a big shout out to Francesco who served up our drinks with a smile and banter! Reception and breakfast also lovely.The location is perfect, about half an hour walk to the old town if you want to visit, but plenty of restaurants near the hotel. We got the bus to Verona and another local town Peschiera, both stunning! The bus is easy to use and cheap! Breakfast was included and was lovely. My hubby missed having boiled eggs but there was still lovely fruit, homemade cakes, cheese, meats, plus scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. We rarely return to the same place but we will definitely be back!

  Beautiful gem of a hotel with lovely staff, and great location

  Arrived for four day break to this wonderful small hotel. Completely beautiful, lovely well maintained pool area, and clean comfortable room with excellent bathroom. USB chargers on the bedside lamps in room very useful, and shower was exceptional.Room cleaned daily. Pool towelCan be rented for €2.50 for your stay which saves packing them. Plenty on sunbeds if you want to lounge round pool, absolutely no need for sunbed wars here at any given time!Short walk to lake and about 40 minutes stroll ( mostly lakeside) into old town but there is a shuttle bus which runs regularly for about €2 . Supermarkets and cafes/restaurants all around a 5 minute walk so easy to stock your fridge in the room. Drinks reasonable and bought to you poolside if you wish . Breakfasts plenty of continental choice and fresh homemade cakes each day were delicious. Owners friendly and quite rightly proud of what they offer. Really friendly helpful staff on reception , but an extra special mention to Giovanna who was just the nicest,happiest lady x I was staying with my daughter but hope toCome back with my husband next year.i didn’t want to leave!!!!

  Loved our stay at Hotel Gardenia

  Loved our stay at Hotel Gardenia! Perfect for our family group of 8, including 2 infants. The staff were so helpful and kind. 5 of our group are vegan and enjoyed delicious home made vegan cake at breakfast, as well as a plentiful supply of soy milk, vegan yoghurt and chocolate spread to go along with the regular buffet offerings. We were happily full every morning! The rooms were spacious and clean, nice and cool with great air con. Plenty of fresh towels in the room, and you can rent a beach towel for just €2.50 for your stay! Our room had an amazing shower, so refreshing in the heat! The bar provided delicious crisp Aperol Spritz, and other cocktails, all expertly made and presented. We loved sitting in the patio area in the evening, in the lovely surroundings of the pool and garden. A bit of a walk to the old town but a pleasant one, and there is a bus that goes to and from Sirmione old town all day which is only €2. The bus stop is a 5 minute walk away so it's super handy! Also nice to be 5 min walk from the Coop.Pool was brill, never got too over crowded and always got a lounger. Great relaxing atmosphere! We would definitely recommend this hotel, the staff were amazing!

  What a great stay!!

  Just back from an amazing holiday in Lake Garda, but what pulled it all together was this great hotel. From our check in to our last steps as we walked to our airport transfer on the day of departure, we were really looked after. We had a spacious Classic Triple room (cleaned every day) with a balcony, with a top view - the lake and mountains in the distance. Breakfast was an enjoyable experience, a varied selection buffet style hot and cold food, that was regularly topped up. Hats off to the chefs - Gianpaolo (the father) and Andrea (son). As to the daily HOME MADE cakes, a big shout out to Linda - pineapple, pear n chocolate, lemon, walnut, apple and fruit tart etc - moist and tasty!! To help make sure everyone was okay, many thanks to Giovanna . Lou on the front desk was also a great help with tips, directions etc. The hotel had a lovely pool and surrounding area, but we did not try it ourselves. Just had a cold beer from the bar!! Although around a 30/40 min walk to Sirmione itself (that opened up the lake with ferries), the hotel was well positioned for the Shuttle Bus to the castle and the local bus route that took in Verona, Pescheria and Desenzano. Would we use this hotel again, you bet we would. Once again a massive thank you to all the staff.
