    Nightmare Hotel

    rating30 Aug 2021

This hotel is way overprized. You pay a lot of money for very little… The location was oke and there are enough parking spots, but these are the only good things I can mention. The beds were really bad, not big enough and your back hurts after a night on the bed. There was mold in the shower, you could not open the shower door when entering it.The hotel is very, very noisy. We could hear our neighbours talking and watching television the whole night and just while i got asleep, i woke up because of all of the noise from opening the breakfast. Also the hotel had too much visitors, therefore I (and many others) could not relax in a chair at the pool. The employees of this hotel are unfriendly and the owner is very arrogant. The breakfast has not much options. I would definitely not recommend this hotel!

    Went twice

    rating11 Sept 2020

We visited il Castello a second time on our way back because of its beautiful location, the easy reservation and check in. The evening staff is polite and very helpful. The rooms are absolutely ok for that price and you can get a good dinner. All hygiene measurements are in compliance acc COVID 19

    Holiday

    rating27 Jul 2019

When we arrived the room we had was very basic. The lovely receptionist was able to upgrade us to a better room for 90 euros for the week. It was very clean and had a lovely balcony with a view.Pool area is beautiful! Most of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. However, one evening we ordered drinks from the manager and after asking twice we left after 25 minutes still not receiving them. We went to a local bar and returned about an hour later when the drinks were then brought over and sat at the table. No apology. Nothing mentioned. The manager seemed to have priorities wrong. He spent most of the night filming customers for what I can only presume was a fb page for the hotel, instead of helping his staff to serve customers. The food was delicious! Beautiful very quiet village so I recommend a car as it’s about 30 euros down to the lake. Gardaland was great!Overall a lovely stay in a peaceful tranquil setting. hotelilcastellopozz, Proprietario at Hotel Il Castello, responded to this review Dear Guest, who speak is the Manager,I ask now apologyze for what matter. That evening I make a mistake very big with you. I permise to serve you the drink in other area normally don't covered by the service in that time for to make you a good thing. We was very busy in that evening and it's possible make a mistake. I search you after for ask you Apologyze, but I don't saw you after. I found you after over late night , but I don't know why I don't spoke ever with you.I suggest for you however two things:- A good pair of glasses, that can permit you to see correctly the service every evening and finally can understand that the man who run together with the boys it's me and not my twin brother....Like on footbal, I ask you: What match did you see?- A good bath of humilty, like the Hotel's Staff! And I can permit to teach tou, because I have the double of your age, that anything that you not feel happy, have to say face to face!Stop, is betterEnjoy your life and remember you that this was the last time that you can arrive in Hotel Il Castello. You are now in list of Guest no pleasures by Staff and ReceptionBest RegardsAugusto e Staff

    Peace and Quiet in Pozzolengo

    rating29 Aug 2018

Stayed here for a week end of August. Pozzolengo itself is a ghost town, very peaceful and quiet. A few shops/limited restaurants 2 or 3 etc, but thats exactly what we wanted. We only went for a walk around town one night, and literally only saw a handful of people. If you're going to stay here I'd recommend having a car as you are only 30 mins away from Sirmione and Bardelino where you can enjoy your evenings. If you don't fancy eating at the hotel. The hotel rooms could do with a refurb, but as this was a last minute booking and we knew it would be 3 star, we weren't surprised, that said, they were ok, rooms serviced everyday etc. and for us, they were literally where we slept as we spent most days doing something. The hotel and restaurant staff were lovely and really friendly. The breakfast was European but not restricted, enough of a of choice. The lunch and evening meal menu's were limited, we liked everything on there so it was great for us (one teenager with us) and the food was very good quality (Great Pizzas)The swimming pool and pool area are very clean, a restricted number of sunbeds but as its the type of hotel where guests are usually doing things, the days that we chose to sunbathe, there were beds available. Usually gets busy when people return from their days out late afternoon/evening.Location wise your an hour and a half to 2 hours from Venice, 1 hour from Verona, 30 mins from Sirmione, Bardelino and Gardaland. We thought the location with a car was perfect. We could enjoy the peace of the hotel/Pozzolengo and then drive in to enjoy the nightlife of Sirmione.Would we stay here again.......yes, without question. A lovely peaceful little hotel on a hill with pleasant views amongst the vineyards and cornfields. The hotel does have some sort of Gym/Spa but we didn't try any of this. Pleasant hotel in sleepy village

    rating29 Aug 2018

Stayed here for 1 week during August.Positives:+ Friendly staff+ Flexible on half board (moving between lunch or dinner)+ Clean pool / pool area+ Pretty villageNegatives- Average bedroom- Food can get a bit bland- Small pool area / not enough sunbeds- Limited choice in villageI would recommend a stay at the hotel however probably for a few days as after one week, you'd be bored of the food and lack of choice/activity in Pozzolengo. If you have a car then it's easy enough to drive to Lake Garda or Verona which is stunning. Pioneer706496, Proprietario at Hotel Il Castello, responded to this review Dear Michael!Thank You for the "positive things" you have found in us! it's a pleasure to read you words. As regards the negative ones, for the room and the food, personal tastes; for the village that is small, it's true, but we are in a strategic place for visiting the Garda Lake and other wonderful places. Ad reards the sunbeds, also this is true; but with other sunbeds it would be too narrow. Anyway, we hope to see You again in future! Best regardsgreetings from all the staff
