    Building work underway

    rating11 May 2026

There is continued construction work at this hotel which, the receptionist tells me, is some way off completionWe paid extra for a room with a balcony looking over lake Garda. Yes, the lake is visible, but only if close one eye to block the crane and don’t look down so as to avoid the building supplies stacked around the entrance drive. The balcony was essentially unusable. Our room was also the last of the existing block so we were in the ‘front row’ for the building noises from the other side of the wall! This morning we had a 5:45 awakening as a lorry delivered some more building materials. The room itself looks tired and could do with a lick of paint, a bit of re-grouting and some new ceiling tiles, but maybe that will come when the other building work is done.Unless you can secure a room in the middle of the old building (expansion is going on at both sides), or until after the work is complete, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

    Relaxing, clean and comfortable stay

    rating27 Sept 2025

Located 20 minute walk from Desenzano port for ferry to other areas of Garda and lots of nice restaurants and shops. Around 40 minute walk to train station.Very clean spacious room with balcony offering views of the lake between trees and residential buildings on opposite side of road.Tea/coffee making facilities but paper cups. Not topped up during stay - but we had brought our own.Towels changed daily.Decent hairdryer in bathroom.Bed linen changed 2nd day or our 3-day stay.Staff very friendly and helpful.Good choice of hot food and continental breakfast.Paid to have dinner at hotel one evening. Pricey but absolutely delicious.Building works evident but absolutely no noise.Indoor pool and spa area very relaxing, though small.

    Excellent value for money

    rating08 Sept 2025

Stayed here for 4 nights in room 250 - room was spacious with a balcony and had a safe and mini fridge. There was a kettle with tea bags in the room which is a plus in Europe. There is a TV but I couldn't find any English channels. The shower was compact but fine if you are not too large. hand wash, shower gel, shampoo and body lotion was all provided. Towels were replenished frequently and the bedding was changed after 2 nights. We ate in the restaurant one evening and paid 45 euros for 2 people for 2 courses and soft drinks. The waiters were all very polite and pleasant.Breakfast was a large buffet with plenty of choice even for fussy eaters - there were plenty of pastries and cakes, 2 types of juice, tea/coffee/chocolate all available in a machine, hot selection of egg, bacon, sausage, hash browns, beans...breads and croissants and jams with ham/cheese salad etc and fresh fruit and fruit salad and yogurt...too much to remember it all!! All of the waiters were very friendly and cleared the tables quickly.Check in and check out was very efficient and the staff were friendly. We did not use the Spa - not sure if it was open with all the building work going on there.Pool area was clean with plenty of new sunbeds and umbrellas available.A couple of things do need addressing- housekeeping was very hit and miss...some days all they seemed to do was make the bed - i found a plastic bag under the chair from a previous stay which had not been removed. room was a bit dusty in places and more coat hangers would have been useful. The walk into the centre of town is around 15-20 minutes but is a tree-lined street which is perfectly safe and well lit at night. We heard no noise from the building work but we were out all day...and can only give positive comments about the staff working here - I would happily go back again in the future

Good air conditioning, shower, and bed. However, horrific noise and a desolate bar.

    rating29 Jul 2025

Pros:+ Air conditioning worked well. + Bathroom was nice and the shower worked well, albeit it had temperature issues. + Room was clean. No bugs. + Multiple mirrors. + Breakfast acceptable, but it could've been better. The butter was awful and there were few hot items. + Had a pool. Cons: - The was little to zero soundproofing. It genuinely sounded like the staff and guests were in my room. I could even hear people using their showers which wasn't too dissimilar to a boiling kettle. Staff would slam doors and drag hoovers around at 7-8 AM. Guests going for breakfast would be very noisy and I had terrible sleep here. I'd never come back purely for this reason, and it's a major reason for the low rating. - Balcony was cramped, and we were facing the emergency exit stairwell. - Bar was almost never attended to. - Mini fridge didn't work. - TV only had Italian channels. Not a big problem, but it also lacked USB ports. - It's about a 20 minute walk from the town centre. Not a big issue, but it's noticeably annoying. - Pool bar would close early, at around 19:00. - Shower water temperature was either a stream from Mount Vesuvius itself, or a freezing flow from the waters of Alaska. No inbetween. - Bed was comfy, but it was two single beds pushed together which created a large gap in the middle. In summary: The room and hotel offers good air conditioning and good comfort, with acceptable breakfast. Shower is fine. Everything else needs work, especially noise. I'll never return here purely for that reason. It's the noisiest hotel I've ever slept in. There are cranes idle onsite. I imagine during the quieter months they will resume construction. I can't imagine the horror of staying in this hotel when that happens. Furthermore, the bar was bad. I like hotel drinks, it's convenient. Here, it was more of a nuisance.
