Lake Garda, what a beautiful part of the world.

    rating01 Jun 2026

Stayed at the Regina Adelaide following a recommendation from a friend. We had chosen a loft suite, which was fabulous, 4 sets of doors opening onto the terrace. Lounge area, large bathroom, bedroom, lots of storage, mini fridge safe etc. Terrace was a little disappointing as although lovely and large, with comfy sun loungers, arm chairs and table with dining chairs there was a high solid wall to all sides so once sitting down you could see nothing but wall. The other terraces and balconies all had pretty wrought iron balustrade. The hotel throughout including our room was spotlessly clean. Linens and towels were very high quality and the bed was super comfortable. Hairdryer good, toiletries lovely.Pool and spa were great very contemporary, everything in perfect condition, and spotlessly clean. Amply comfy loungers. Breakfast was lovely, simple menu to order from, then buffet for fresh pastries, delicious freshly prepared fruits, continental style cheeses and hams etc. we sat on the patio each morning which was delightful. We didn’t eat at the hotel in the evening as the menu wasn’t our choice, however lots of guests did and loved it. The restaurant has an excellent reputation. The hotel is traditional in style but that is by choice as there are marble floors such as you’d find in contemporary hotels but they have chosen to cover in traditional rugs and antiques, with contemporary twists such as two super modern style mustard chairs in our room. The traditional style decor is not in any way an indication the hotel is old and rundown, everything is in excellent condition it’s just a decor choice to match the building and the fact the hotel has been there for 60+ years. The location is absolutely perfect, you can access the lake to the front and the pretty little streets to the rear with cafes and shops. We loved walking out of the hotel and going for a nice walk, everywhere is flat and easy to walk or cycle. We had bicycles one evening free of charge from the hotel (nice solid easy to ride, picked up from the main door of the hotel from a lovely man who altered my seat etc ) we cycled along the path around the lake to two adjacent towns which was a round trip of 12km. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful on asking, we found them a little brittle on occasion but that might just our perception. For the price we paid for a suite we felt they were a little mean with little extras such as water. There was one bottle on arrival which was not replaced, there was no fruit or chocolates etc ever left in the room which considering they have their own confectioners at the hotel bakery on site was surprising. Garda was gorgeous, food and drink when out and about was so reasonably priced. Large pizza at lake side restaurants just €10, ice creams €2.50. Highly recommend going in the cable car at Malcesine it was a great morning out. We hired a car from Verona airport. Roads were very easy to drive on and it was more cost effective to hire a car than pay for taxi’s. Overall highly recommend.

    Charming hotel

    rating26 Apr 2026

We had a delightful stay at this charming hotel last week.We stayed on a B&B basis and the breakfast each morning was perfect. Excellent cold buffet as well as scrambled eggs and bacon. You could also order from the menu for various egg types, sausage etc.All staff we encountered were very friendly. Reception staff were always helpful with any information we required.Location is perfect. The front of the building is only a few metres from the lake and at the rear the bus station is only two minutes away. The ferry port and the heart of the town can be reached within a ten minute walk.We hired bikes from the hotel one day. (Free) Bikes were in good condition and it's a lovely, flat ride alongside the lake to nearby Bardolino or indeed Lazise a little further on.The hotel bar was always a favourite for a nightcap before retiring. All in all I would thoroughly recommend Regina Adelaide as the perfect base to explore Lake Garda or a day trip to beautiful Verona.

Just Wonderful - We Will Return

    rating18 Nov 2025

Amazing trip to Lake Garda in September 2025 staying at the Regina Adelaide. My husband and I would typically opt for a more modern hotel than the Regina Adelaide however, this is an absolute gem of a hotel. The decor fits in beautifully with the building. We stayed in a Junior Deluxe Suite which was a great size and included everything you needed for an extremely comfortable stay. The room was spotlessly clean and serviced daily with a turndown service in the evening. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis however, due to extremely unpredictable weather at night we did eat in the hotel 4 nights. We ate in the Adelaide and the Regio Patio Restaurants and the food was just a delight. The Regio Patio was a fabulous gastronomic experience where Chef Andrea Constantini and his team have created the most amazing flavours, textures and esthetically pleasing menu. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Staff were just wonderful and I need to make a special mention to Priscilla. from the American Bar. Priscilla was just a wonderful host. We did use the Spa Facilities and had a fabulous massage and facial. Highly recommend but book when you arrive as slots do fill up quickly for beauty treatments. The hotel is well situated within Garda and just a few minute walk from the Bus Terminal and a 10 minute walk to the Water Taxi jetty. A great central location for exploring the lake.

A lovely hotel let down by its staff

    rating23 Oct 2025

This was our first (and probably last) visit to Garda which started badly as when we arrived at the hotel around noon (having been travelling since 4am) the unfriendly receptionist told us our room wasn't ready and likely not available until 2pm. She said she would conduct the check in then and we were then 'dismissed'. There was no offer to show us around the public areas or ask if we wanted any refreshments (which I later learned were available in the American Bar of the hotel). We asked for a recommendation of somewhere to eat and were directed to a local hostelry around the block from the hotel. When we returned an hour or so later we were checked in by the same person, with no apology of having being sent away first time and told our luggage was already in our room. I had to ask about breakfast times, in fact during our entire stay there was a sense of disdain and arrogance from the reception staff whenever we enquired about anything. Our request for a uk newspaper was met with "we don't get them now because of Brexit"!!There was no air con as it had been turned off (due to a state policy we were told) and it took us 3 days to find the way to the outdoor pool as there was no signage. When we raised this with the receptionist we were told it was because the hotel owners don't want signs all over!! The housekeeping was good when it was done but never seemed to be done around the same time every day so sometimes your towels had been changed when you got back from a morning stroll, but other times not.I had high hopes of a lovely relaxing stay in this hotel (we had a junior suite) but we just felt unwelcome and 'processed'. We will not be back and won't recommend it.
