    Like everybody else we checked the reviews before hand. They were mixed but the most recent ones were positive so we went for it. Later we found out the hotel has a new management team from earlier this year I think, hence the recent positive reviews. And they are true.Location wise, the hotel is not in the city centre. It is about 20 mins away by walk. Wich was great for us because we had a very nice walk along the canal on the outside of the city walls. Great views and photo opportunities.Room wise, we had a room facing the canal. Perfect place to sit in the balcony and enjoy the sunrise with a coffee in our hands. Very spacious and very very very clean. Couldn't find the slightest detail to moan about. Just great.The food...best hotel food I ever had. Don't know what magic they do in that kitchen but I found the food better than the most places in town. Cheaper too :)Try the Salmon with roasted vegetables. You won't regret it. The people. What can I say? Wish all my relatives were as warm and caring and friendly as they were. They made us feel like being part of the family. From Liuba in the Reception to Paula and Alessio in the Restaurant area and finishing off with Safa to whom I am personaly the most grateful for. She was there before we even knew we need something and topped everyting up with a great, natural smile and attitude.There is no doubt in my mind we will return as soon as possible.

    Around 30 min walk from the middle of Peschiera del Garda, and 45 min walk from the train station. Atmosphere is very weird, almost like a horror movie. An awful smell coming from somewhere. Smells like mould and sewage. So far away from any place. Motorway is too loud at night. Our bathroom lock broke. Shower flooded. Tv doesn't work. Such a weird feeling being in the hotel, almost like you're being watched.

    Hotel is absolutely miles away from the lake you will have to walk 30 minutes down a dark dimly lit river to reach it every night as you have more chance of winning the lottery than getting a taxi in lake Garda.Right next to a motorway and if you don’t book a room with “river view” you will be directly on top of this.For the “river view “ the river is a good 1km from the hotel the pictures lie you would need a pair of binoculars to see it your balcony will be located near enough publicly next to a stair case and with no privacy but you will pay extra for this thrilling view.There is absolutely nothing around it no shops bars restraunts etc it’s a ghost town if you could call a motorway and a garden that seems to sell tomb stones a “town”.Considering all this it’s not a cheap stay spend the extra 10 euros and stay by the lake where you will have to walk to everyday anyway.Only good thing is the reception which are helpful and sell extremely overpriced mini bar items which you will need because there is absolutely nowhere to purchase any necessities around.

    Not very pedestrian friendly, our river side balcony was on the first floor so all balcony separated by flower pots and then a wall so you had to be stood up to see the river. Had no shops near by however did have a 24 mini bar of drinks in the hotel to be charged to the room.

    Stayed for 2 nights at Hotel Rivus. Room was clean & tidy with everything we needed. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice. Spa €20 each was great & perfect after a busy day. This is not an upmarket hotel but you are not paying a lot. I thought it was good value for money with great staff.
