  Underwhelming in Peschiera del Garda

  Let’s start with the positive:The rooms were clean and the two restaurants across the road were really good.Sadly the rest of the experience was profoundly disappointing but not disastrous.While the room was clean and larger than most rooms, it was spartan in its appearance. The bed sheets on the bed were crinkly. They were cotton, but had a paper-like texture and the blanket provided offered marginal warmth.The included breakfast was not bad, but not as other reviewers have described. Either they have never stayed at a decent hotel, or unaccustomed to superior food.The most disappointing part of the breakfast was the coffee. Peschiera del Garda is in Italy, for goodness sake. Coffee is deity there and the coffee offered at this place was sacrilegious.Most disappointing was the service provided by the reception with the exception of the one male reception employee we encountered at check out. I suspect they are understaffed because the other two people we dealt with at reception only marginally helpful and seemed to double as security and tripled as working a bar in the hotel.When I complained about our safe not working, the woman at reception/head of security/bartender checked it out and confirmed my statement and I was told a maintenance guy would repair it the next day. Of course, that was not the case.I’ve also read on other reviews about how great the staff are. But when we asked them to call a taxi for us, their attempts to do so were futile. We ended up walking about few hundred meters down the road where we saw a camp ground and the staff immediately got us the cab the receptionist at our hotel said was unavailable.This hotel is located on a major road linking various more touristy cities and has no direct access to Lake Garda.The shortest walk to the water is about 10 minutes down a path across this major road, so if going to the lake is why you came to Peschiera del Garda, take that into consideration.

  Not 4 star - needs improvement

  Definitely not 4 star. We were given the accessible room, balancing on disabled toilet was not good. The only reason we didn’t ask to be moved was because the bed was huge and very comfy so we put up with the rest. The room was bare/basic, was kept clean. Tea and coffee facilities not replenished so had to keep asking reception- some were helpful some weren’t. Breakfast was poor, no hot water for tea first day, congealed eggs, fatty greasy streaky bacon. Even pastries were burnt one day. Spa was poor, sauna cold so had to request turn it up. Jacuzzi also cold - no hot water for teas provided. Pool was ok but drinks very expensive- 4 euros for a small can of coke. There are better hotels nearer to the town and on the lake. Won’t return here.

  Cute boutique hotel

  We stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 4 and stayed in a junior suite. It was very spacious, with a cot provided for our 2 year old. It was a 5 minute walk to the lake. Generally quiet, with really nice friendly guests.The pool was lovely, quiet most days, plenty of sun and sunloungers available, most people must go out for the day but we enjoyed the facilities.An underground car park kept our car cool and safe.Reception were very friendly and helpful, including late night drinks when we returned to the hotel after dinner. Breakfast in the hotel was tasty, service was excellent. The same chap ran the poolside bar and offered reasonably priced cocktails alongside a bar menu of salads and sandwiches.We looked at staying an extra night but they didn’t have availability. Would recommend!

  Certainly not what we were lead to believe by thief website wording.

  We were hoping for a four star stay at Ziba hotel, as their website promised ‘a perfect refuge for your wellness escape’. Sadly we were so disappointed that we cancelled before we even had checked in. We are frequent travelers and have been to many hotels and have only ever had to cancel once before, due to terrible grounds. The grounds were shoddy, the pool area was so disgusting we couldn’t even bear to spend more than 10 minutes there. There are weeds everywhere, including the reception area. When we asked for a latte macchiato- a normal drink served across Italy, we were informed that they only made espresso. When we asked for the Wi-Fi code we were met with shrugged shoulders and a ‘I don’t know…’ The receptionist seemed to think that it was ok to still ask for a whopping €200 because ‘your room was ready early’ and we were met with a dumbfounded expression when we tried to explain that we felt the whole experience had been awful.

  Clean friendly hotel but needs improvements and to far from main amenity’s

  Just spent a week at this hotel and have some good things to say but not all areas came up to expectations.When we arrived we noticed that there is a lot of building work going on next door which we were not informed about.. To be fair the holiday company should have let us know this. We were originally in a room next to it but had a word with the reception and they moved us to a different area they were very good about this and helpful.The room was very clean and comfortable we had a mini fridge and safe to use.Unfortunately no balcony or outside space but none in this hotel.The bathroom was small and had a door which served no purpose as the toilet was right next to it as was a very busy main road so no view.The shower was very small and no shower mat so very slippery getting in and out.It was fairly sound proof slight traffic noise and air con worked but couldn’t set lower than 22 decrease so slightly warm at times.A nice reception area a restaurant area shame the food didn’t live up to much.We ate our first evening meal there on arrival day and that was enough.A very basic menu ordered our starter which came out burnt to a crisp on top which tasted awful they took this off the bill, main course was mediocre a pork dish which we were informed was boiled for 4 hours then roasted served with a sauce it was chewy and not much taste. Bread was like a bath sponge and very dry..Breakfast was basic continental and a few hot choices with mainly eggs not much to write home about. Same Menu everyday so didn’t bother again.The pool area is very tired need lots of improvements lots of green slim around the pool walls and broken slats when you walk around it. The sun beds are all sagging and very uncomfortable with a couple off double wicker beds with damaged cushions that need replacing. Not a 4* experience didn’t use after first time.We found transport the worst thing about staying here buses only come once an hour and need an App on your phone to pay which was complicated. No Taxis available we were told they only take long distance fairs. There are very limited Taxis available in this area.Walking to town was a fair way especially when your slightly older so a car or bike hire is essential to get about.Ferry’s go from the main harbour but get full quickly and aren’t frequent so all in all we found this hotel just to far from anywhere. Staff were great but unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this Hotel
