    I’m quite shocked by the positive reviews, but even more by the photos provided by the hotel. It seems like a different hotel altogether!! The parking, which needs to be pre booked, it’s very small and not all the pre booked cars could fit. The receptionist did the same trick to us and to a couple in front of us: he asked for the total amount to be paid, “forgetting” the 30% deposit which the hotel asked for and collected months before. Only when we reminded him of this, he then said “oh yes sorry, in fact I can see here that 30% of your stay was already collected”…very weird. Then the room; OMG the room. The smallest room I’ve ever been in, old, ugly, broken furniture, missing TV. The bathroom was just plain ridiculous: you simply could not sit on the toilet, because there was no room for your legs (the shower box was positioned exactly in front of the toilet). Very old, it looked like my grandma’s bathroom. The balcony window didn’t close properly and the doors were very old, you could hear everything going on in the corridor or in the room next to you. Beware of the nice pictures, only the hall has been completely renovated and looks nice. They are also supposed for o have a restaurant but when we asked about it the receptionist said “the chef is not in today”. The price we paid was 110€ per night, without breakfast, so very high for the poor quality we found.

    Had a great week here close to all transport links(bus, ferry, and boat services) A room overlooking the garden with a balcony, excellent a/c breakfast had something for all an outside area as well. The family are the most welcoming we’ve met for a long time,the cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional.A big hat tip to Mariana,s husband who made us really great g&ts each evening.Looking forward to our next visitMany Thanks Chris & Marian

    Maderno is a very charming town. The Hotel Eden is an affordable place to stay. It is very convenient to the bus stop, boat and ferry docks, and an array of bars, cafes and restaurants. For this stay, we were one adult and 2 children age 12. Our room had a very large bed and a bunk bed. One thing I was missing on this trip compared to the last, was a small desk to use my computer. We did not have a balcony, but the window opened up to a beautiful Maderno garden and rooftop scene. The room is large, clean and the bathroom is typically Italian. The breakfast is adequate. The staff is pleasant especially the kind gentleman in the dining room. I love the tile decor throughout the hotel which is pictures painted by young guests. This is not a fancy hotel but it is a very nice place to stay. I might add it was hotter than Hades when we were there and the /C worked very well.

    This hotel has a perfect location! It has a Nice back yard and a small swimmingpool. Hotel is very very clean and staff are super friendly and helpful.Beds are a little hard but seems like that is how it is in south europe..(same in croatia and rest of italy we visited this summer.) Aircondition works perfect,breakfast was NiceAnd Parking was an incredible bonus for us as we came by car from norway. This hotel has everything you want!Only thing bothered me was the church tower outside our Windows.     On the internet, the hotel website says that you can park free and they provide free parking area. But the truth is that there is a very small parking area where you can't park with bigger car. Moreover one of the receptionist is very impolite and fussy. The rooms are small and the view is disgusting. Do not even talk about breakfast...I don't recommend this accommodation for families who want relax and enjoy the life.
