    Condescending behaviour from staff

    rating30 May 2026

Fabulous location , beautiful hotel , fabulous front office staff and support staff at breakfast ! All of them went out of the way to make us feel welcomed and happy to be staying there . It was my second visit the first one was in April where again the stay and service was exemplary! However this time we faced condescend ing attitudes and racist behaviour from the supervisor in charge of the bar during lunch service , down to the youngest girl serving us lunch . Rude behaviour , like they were doing us the biggest favour by serving us . Frankly unacceptable in this day and age !! Travelling with my 85 year old mother who was extremely upset with this uncalled for treatment with no respect to her senior age .

    A Relaxing Lakeside Escape

    rating28 Apr 2026

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Cortine Palace, spending three very relaxing nights at this beautiful lakesfront villa. From the moment we entered through the grand gate, there was a special feeling of stepping back in time, which made the arrival really memorable. We arrived at Desenzano station from Venice, and the hotel kindly arranged a pick-up service for us (at an extra cost), which was very convenient—especially as it was our first time visiting Lake Garda. We booked two rooms (next to each other) for our family of 4, which were newly renovated, combining classic European style with modern comfort. The beds were comfortable with a lovely view over the lake. We also appreciated for the complimentary water and minibar. Breakfast was a highlight for us, with both indoor and outdoor seating. There was a good variety of food, nicely presented. We also had lunch at the hotel’s Koseritz Bar & Bistrot, which overlooks the garden and offers good food. The private jetty was another highlight for our family—especially the children, where we could swim in the lake and just relax. We also really enjoyed walking around the spacious gardens, beautifully designed in a traditional European villa style. It’s very peaceful and a great place to unwind. The location is excellent as well. It’s within walking distance to Sirmione town, where we visited the castle, shops, and restaurants. We could also walk to the nearby pier to take ferries to other towns around the lake. The staff were all kind and helpful throughout our stay, which made everything feel easy and comfortable. On our check-out, the hotel also arranged a van transfer for our return to the train station, making our departure smooth and hassle-free. Overall, it was a lovely stay, and we would definitely love to come back next summer.

A Truly Special Hotel That Is Hard to Leave Behind

    rating24 Apr 2026

One of our favourite hotelsVilla Cortine in Sirmione has become one of our favourite hotels. It is a rare place where everything creates a feeling of elegance, peace, and quiet beauty. The grounds are absolutely exceptional: a large, beautifully maintained garden with birds singing in the morning and the almost intoxicating fragrance of flowers in bloom. Walking through the park feels like being in a private Italian estate rather than a hotel. The location is perfect — right in Sirmione, but once you enter the property, it feels secluded, calm, and very special. The architecture, lake views, interiors, and atmosphere are all full of old-world charm. The staff were extremely pleasant, warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive. The service felt natural and personal, not forced. After staying at Villa Cortine, it is honestly difficult to enjoy ordinary hotels in the same way. This is a beautiful, memorable, and truly special place.

    Very Special Escape in Sirmione

    rating18 Apr 2026

Arrived on Easter Sunday to a crazy Sirmione, the gated grounds of Villa Cortine were such a nice escape! We had a lovely 4 nights, Rooms 222 and 224? at end of corridor, both Junior Suites with fantastic bathrooms, comfortable beds. Welcoming staff and meals on property were fantastic, loved the Pizza tuk-tuk at night. Definitely make the time to walk every inch of the property, it is really special. They booked two meals in town for us last minute and each time we were given best possible tables. Our favorite meal of the trip (pre booked by us) involved a 45 minute walk to Savoia on a beautiful Easter Monday, highly recommend the walk and lakefront dining experience. We also enjoyed Tavernetta Maria Callas closer by to the hotel. The food at LaGoLa at Hotel Olivi was good but you could sense the beginning of season staff training was still in progress. We loved visiting the Castle (go early), the Archeological Site, and watching the sunset from various locations. The old town is delightful AFTER the day trippers go home!To be aware of: The hotel is all hard surfaces, so sound travels. We were on floor 2 and if I were going back I would request floor 3 as I am a light sleeper. As it was European Easter Break there were MANY children about as well as dogs, keep that in mind for rooms not overlooking the pool if noise is something you try to avoid.
