  My son and I stayed here for two nights as we wanted to explore Luca but also wanted to experience staying in a Tuscan countryside in an old hotelThe staff are amazing. Our room was on the ground floor and was nice and spacious. It had everything we wanted. Everything was spotlessWe act there on night one it was quite a posh dinner and everything tasted really nice We were looking out onto the lovely views of their surrounding gardens. There was a bad thunder and lightning storm so we would have loved to sat outside for an after dinner drink but this was not possible with the weather so we had a couple of drinks in the foyer area After there isn’t a bar as such just some couches etc and we had a few delicious cocktails and as I said, the staff were amazingBreakfast was included and was of the continental variety. I would say it wouldn’t have been as good as other hotels I have stayed in the choice wasn’t as much but what was there was nice.There were eggs and bacon as well if you want something hotThe following morning we had a walk around the grounds they have a lovely swimming pool . It’s not open this time of the year as it’s still too cold we ordered taxis to and from Luca via the receptionist and that was no problem. They arrived promptly within a few minutes Although lucca is quite near it’s not really a walkable road and taxis are extremely expensive Nice if you want to stay in the countryside but for me I loved Luca so much next time I would probably choose somewhere nearer in the town as we just found the Taxi situation expensive and on our last night we were extremely lucky to get a taxi at all as we didn’t realise they stop And it wasn’t even 12 o’clock and we couldn’t find one only for pure luck .

  We spent four days in Lucca house hunting around the surrounding areas. This hotel is in a perfect location for getting around however a car is a must.The hotel is a little bit dated but that adds to the traditional Italian charm. There is an outdoor swimming pool (weather permitting) but there is not much else to do in the hotel however, that being said, you don’t go on holiday to spend time in the hotel when you have such beautiful scenery around you! Breakfast is great selection and we were always greeted with a friendly welcoming face.We cannot fault the staff, everyone we met was so lovely, chatty and friendly. We must also give a big shout out to Glinda who helped us out so much especially our nightmare using the toll roads for the first time. It was an experience but she helped us so much and really went out of her way to help with all of our queries during our stay. She is a credit to the hotel as we say here in England “a little diamond”We would definitely stay here again, whilst passing through Tuscany it was lovely peaceful break.

  It was more a 3.5 experience. There are pros and cons. The pros - excellent receptionist and majority of staff friendly. Pool was superb. Cons - when food ran out at breakfast which one day was 10 minutes after breakfast commenced the hot food was not replenished. We had to move 3 times during our stay due to each room being unique. The first room was by the kitchen entrance. As you can guess quite noisey and also a very dark room. Second room with a view was superb. Five star. Felt like we were in a completely different hotel and very much on holiday. Last room was with a balcony - very noisey again. One evening the restaurant was closed for a baptism. If I had not asked at reception we would have been unaware of its closure. The dinner is limited and for me just adequate hotel food. My husband had salmon which was obviously cooked from frozen and completely flavourless. After sampling food outside of the hotel, I would not recommend eating dinner there. But then who goes to Tuscany not to sample different restaurants!

  We had the most amazing stay here with our family. Having the whole hotel made it extra special, and the staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. Pascale and the team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The food was delicious, the atmosphere so welcoming, and it truly felt like a 5-star experience. We loved every minute and would recommend this hotel to anyone. 10/10

  Unable to find the ideal place in Lucca itself, with parking, we opted for this attractively located villa on the outskirts. The shabby sign from the main road sets the tone nicely: this place is not immaculate, just warm and friendly, with dated and rather basic bedrooms (and a very worn stone staircase accessing them). The large pool and surrounding area is a great asset, and dinner was of a high quality, served in the elegant semi-covered terrace. Good value overall, given the location close to one of Italy's gems.
