  Lovely hotel with superb food.

  This hotel is excellent. All staff are helpful and friendly from the moment you arrive at reception to the bar, restaurant and housekeeping everyone is very pleasant.The hotel is situated at what I felt was the quieter end of Viareggio and is immaculate in every way. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony which was a bonus and much appreciated. Our room faced onto a side street but we had no issue with noise.The restaurant is fabulous and the food superb, there was everything you could wish for at the breakfast buffet and additional items you could have cooked to order. In the evening the restaurant menu focused on seafood, which suited us, the only issue we had was that it would have been better if we could have dined earlier but that is to do with our age!We did not use either the gym or the pool so cannot comment on those.I felt the hotel was excellent value for money and would have no hesitation in recommending it.Thanks to everyone at Sina Astor for giving us a lovely holiday.   Excellent!

  We were both impressed with this hotel. The staff at all times were courteous and helpful and prepared to listen to my imperfect Italian with patience. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very comprehensive and of excellent quality - I can’t really think of anything else that could have been offered to guests at breakfast.   Great place to unwind at the end of an Italian vacation

  A perfect place to unwind at the end of our Italian trip, which included a week in the Florence countryside and Venice. This place felt like the Jersey Shore in the fall- not much going on. We arrived in late September, so many of the beach clubs were closed. The hotel has an arrangement with a beach club across the street. We got two chairs, an umbrella, and a small table for 28 Euros a day. The water was warm, and the beach was uncrowded. The hotel staff was very helpful and very professional. Breakfast was the best we experienced on this trip. The room was small, but we had a balcony with a great view to watch the Mediterranean sunsets. I would return to this hotel.   Fab hotel in great location- staff make it a great experience

  We booked this hotel through Jet 2 as a replacement holiday after being let down by Riviera travel with just 72 hours notice of a cancelled river cruise. We were highly delighted with the hotel, their facilities and particularly their staff were amazing and could not do enough for us - Marina on reception was so helpful and professional- she even helped us change rooms as my husband had mobility issues getting up a staircase. Breakfast was to die for and Klejdi on the door as always so helpful and polite - I’ve never seen such an amazing choice and fab service. We always went back for a night cap and our barman was amazing - his gin making skills are a work of art ??????The beach club with beds umbrellas and towels provided by the hotel was a bonus just across the road and right on the beach with a lovely cafe bar. When I read the 1 star review below I honestly thought he was talking about a different hotel ! His comments are unfounded as they could not be further from the truth - it’s a lovely hotel in a fantastic location but it’s the staff that definitely make it a lovely experience ??   Horrible, Subpar Hotel Experience!

  Luckily, we only stayed here as part of a charitable auction package to see Bocelli. But from check-in to check-out, it was a disaster! The welcome at the reception was inhospitable and rude. They could not find our reservation and acted like it was our fault and a huge inconvenience to find it. Just terrible. When finally assigning us a room, they said it was one of the best. Please! It was dirty, completely outdated, and had a severely cold feeling. The shower leaked each time you used it as the door was not securely on the track. The only saving grace was a large terrace looking out to the sea. But, of course, we had to come back into the room to sleep! But the real disaster is breakfast. Never in our lives have we had worst service. First of all, breakfast is lacking for a four star hotel in Europe. Just tired and unimaginative. But what was worse was the service! After being greeted with a smile by the host, everything went downhill. The servers are rude and distant barely wanting to serve coffee. We asked for water, they told us to get up and retrieve it for ourselves. While we arrived for breakfast 20 minutes before service was over, on the dot we were told that we had to leave — rudely. So was the table next to us. We were appalled! Never in my life have I arrived for breakfast, been welcomed in and told to leave the moment it was technically over. The waiter was rude when we pushed back and told us they did not have a work a minute over time. We asked for the manager and he was even ruder. He told us to leave and when we all said we would give this service a bad review, he said he didn’t care but that we better not take photos because it was against the law! No one said anything about taking photos so this was an absurd thing for a manager to say to us. He was belittling, combative and just extraordinarily unprofessional. Never in my life have I experienced such a rude and incompetent restaurant manager. This is not a four star hotel experience. It is two star at best and I cannot stress enough that if you read this review, do not stay here! Terrible from start to finish.
