    Rooms are small and prices are not competitive compared to the others similar hotels in the region.Picture of the hotel is nicer than reel situation: only parking view from the rooms . Some noise due to the parking.Manager of this hotel does not have any service quality, he didn’t wish to solve the problems occurred. It was very disappointing experience . We don’t recommend this hotel. It’s easy to find better, nicer and price competitive in the same region. Hotel Cortese, Direttore generale at Cortese Hotel, responded to this review Buongiorno Mrs Tatiana, thanks for your bad valuation due to a not a discounted rate as you were asking for, it's useful to show how real are all the others...

    Fabulous place to stay. Superb attentive and knowledgeable staff. Warm and welcoming. Wonderful restaurant with quality food and drink. Comfortable room and everywhere extremely clean hotel. We felt well looked after and catered for. Excellent location for sight seeing to the lakes and the mountains. Really couldn’t ask to improve on anything. Fantastic..

    We stayed in in 2019 & loved it, so had to return in September 2023. This was part of a road trip & was our favourite hotel of all we stayed in. We booked direct for 3 nights but extended our stay for 2 extra nights as we enjoyed it so much. The owner Marco runs a superb hotel & is always charming & on hand & it was lovely to see him again.Everything about the hotel was immaculate, the rooms, pool & gardens.The restaurant Verum is a must, food & service are exceptional. It was good to see Andrea again in the restaurant.We feel lucky to have found this place & will return.Thanks Marco & Team

    We stayed 4 nights at the Hotel Cortese. It is ideally situated to explore the area, in particular the lake Orta which we found the most charming, less crowded of the various lakes in Northern Italy. Many worthwhile sites within the reach of a relatively short drive. The hotel is absolutely a great place to stay. Nice, large rooms, very clean, very comfortable. The restaurant offers a nice variety of excellent dishes. Food was just great! We also followed the staff's recommendations for local wines and that was a great experience.Breakfast buffet has everything you could think of. Facilities include a lounge, swimming pool, a fitness room, a nice outside area to relax and enjoy. The hotel does not have a charging station for EVs, but there's plenty of options in the surroundings, so this wasn't an issue at all.And a special word about the staff: extremely friendly, providing an excellent service with style and a real care for the guests' well-being. A big thank you to all the team!All in all, we were very pleased with our stay, and we would certainly return to the lovely Hotel Cortese during a next trip to the region. A highly recommendable place!

    Reservation cancelled by Hotel

    Reservation has been made through booking.com for 3 nights. Contacted by the hotel shortly before our visit via booking.com to update credit card details already provided with original reservation which has been successfully completed (once again) and confirmed (via booking.com) but received the following day through booking.com cancellation of reservation from the hotel because “no deposit was paid”.Calling the hotel to clarify they claimed that they have tried to charge the credit card and apparently, it has not worked, however checking with the credit card company they confirmed that the credit card works perfectly fine AND no attempt from Italy has been made the last 72 hours to charge the credit card which suggests either gross incompetence by the hotel or they are trying to sell the room at a considerably higher rate (our room subsequently available via booking.com at +30% vs. our reservation) for the same date / long weekend. Either way their business conduct is appalling and unacceptable and hanging up the phone during the call tells everything one needs to know about this place. Beware of this hotel.
