Located outside the historic area. Room was spacious with room to layout 2 suitcases. There is a safe. Nice sized desk that has a light. Bathroom has a lighted shaving mirror but the light didn’t work and the mirror was so loose it wouldn’t stay in the position I needed. The supplied blow dryer is feeble and you have to hold the on button all the time. Combo shower/tub was slippery and the shower head was difficult to use without spraying the toilet next to the tub and the floor. The nightstands on each side of the bed had a built in USB port but they only work when the bedside lights are on; no overnight charging while you sleep unless you loosen the bulb. The room had a refrigerator/mini bar. Breakfast was very good- a very large selection of meats cheeses breads cakes cereal etc. multiple coffee options. Overall a good option for this area

Beautiful grounds, very relaxing

I stayed here one night with the tour group. My room was 208 and was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was different. They had breads and pastries on the tables and would serve you coffee. I asked if they had eggs and was told they would come right out, But I didn't see any place for the eggs. They came out with about 12 oval dishes with 3 pieces of bacon and scrambled eggs, but the eggs looked like they were placed in the dish and then baked. They had a 'skin' on them. Maybe they sat out in the air for a few hours and had dried out. Three people were on my table and we got 3 dishes of eggs, so we each took one. The dishes were extremely hot. As more and more people came for breakfast, we were a group of 35, it was announced that only 3 dishes per table would be provided and we should share. OOPS. Because we early birds assumed one dish per person, there were not enough eggs for the later people. They had to make more eggs, but ran out of bacon! Was this because we were there off season? because everyone is trying to recover from the pandemic? because this region of Italy is cheap? because the tour company got a 'deal"? The gardens and grounds were beautiful and relaxing.

The People Make the Difference

While the property itself is nice, it won’t knock your socks off. It’s immaculately kept and the thing that generates the 5* is the staff. Very helpful. Attentive. Professional. They try very hard and It makes the experience positive. It’s bit luxe by any stretch, but good people go a long way. Also, it’s not in Sassi (the old town - it’s - few mikes away). If you want to stay in caves - don’t stay here.

Breakfast next to beautiful garden
28 Sept 2021
The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of desk space. There was a deep bathtub and a good bar of soap and body wash but no separate shampoo or conditioner.Breakfast had limited options but I enjoyed canteloupe and barley coffee. The garden next to the restaurant is beautiful and it contains some very old stone structures.
