  Solid standard hotel with minor flaws

  The Domina Milano Fiera is a relatively modern and overall very clean hotel, even though you can spot a few minor cosmetic flaws here and there. The rooms meet the usual standards. There is a kettle and a minibar in the room, but unfortunately no coffeemachine.The biggest downside for me was the bed. The mattresses were very uncomfortable and unfortunately felt like quite worn-out innerspring mattresses – this definitely needs to be improved.When it came to service, it was a mixed bag: the staff at reception were average in terms of friendliness, but the team at the bar was absolutely top-notch and very warm. Okay for a short stay.

  The hotel is fine overall — good value for the price. It’s clean and has everything you really need. It’s simple, but pleasant. The staff was friendly; however, when we asked them to order a taxi, the meter was already at 30 euros when it arrived, and the person at the front desk was not very helpful. We had no choice but to take that taxi and ended up paying almost 40 euros for a drive of less than five minutes.   On our stay first night at around 1:00 AM, someone knocked on our door and actually tried to come into our room. I had no idea what was going on and genuinely thought we were being attacked, so I had to push them out. Later we realised it seemed to be two drunk guys, but it was a really scary situation.I didn’t report it straight away that night, which I admit was my mistake, but I did speak to reception the next morning. The response I got wasn’t helpful at all. I was basically told to give more information and to let them know if it happens again. That didn’t make sense to me — why should we have to wait for something like this to happen again before anything is done?I also suggested checking the cameras to see who it was and what room they were staying in, but I was told the cameras are private and couldn’t be checked, which was frustrating.On top of that, when we checked out, receptionist tried to charge for two beers we didn’t drink. We were asked multiple times (around five times) if we were sure they weren’t ours, which felt quite unreasonable.Overall, this was a really disappointing experience. Between the safety issue and how it was handled, plus the checkout problem, the service we received—especially from the two male receptionists—was poor.   Comfortable, clean and well-catered to.

  My stay was for five weeks and was overall pleasant. The only complaint I had was the refrigerator was not very effective but it was sufficient for keeping my cartons of milk cold enough.Otherwise, the staff were very welcoming and helpful, particularly on my last night's stay, when my access pass was set up with the incorrect end date by one day.Breakfast is OK, though I question how they cook the bacon. Breakfast hours are very reasonable.Location is a bit out of the way but that's a good thing from a noise point of view, being very peaceful. There is a supermarket behind the hotel, which is extremely handy, and the Novate Milanese train station is a mere ten minute walk away.The room was a reasonable size though the bed was a bit too firm for my liking. My spine doesn't appreciate such a firm mattress but we're not all built the same, so there's that!The cleaners are in every day, though I felt it only necessary to be once a week and they did very well at keeping everything clean.No idea of the value. It was paid for by my employer, so I'll leave it to others to judge the value for money.
