Close to Airport and Good for Walking

    rating04 Mar 2026

I like to walk when I visit a large city. I like easy access to bars and eateries, and I like when the public transit is only a short distance away. These needs, and our desire for a hotel that wasn’t too expensive, convinced my wife and I to stay at Hotel 22 Marzo in Milan, Italy.Hotel 22 Marzo is a small, boutique-style hotel located very close to the smaller airport, Linate. We were able to get here quickly following our flight and our first impression was that the hotel was on the small side, with very few amenities. It doesn’t have its own restaurant, pool, etc., but food and drink are all around you and an easy walk away. The rooms at Hotel 22 Marzo are small, but cozy. Our room was nice and clean and even though our room was close to a busy street, we had no problem blocking the noise and getting a good night’s sleep. The hotel personnel were helpful in directing us where we needed to go and they spoke English, which is good because I know almost no Italian. One nice plus at Hotel 22 Marzo is the complementary coffee and water. It’s right in the central, common space on the floors, and there are chairs to get comfortable. We really enjoyed the late night coffee. It is freshly ground and tastes great. This was a nice, added touch. We visited Milan for the winter Olympic games and while this hotel wasn’t as close to the Olympics facilities as I would have liked, it was still close to other things and thus we didn’t need to call a taxi or Uber very frequently. Hotel 22 Marzo isn’t a deluxe hotel, no, but it is comfortable and clean, and a good choice if you like a place of lodging that is a quick walk to nearby attractions or to the subway, tram, and other public transportation.

    10/10 no complaints

This place was perfect for a short stay. The room was clean, comfortable and functional, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was close to the centre and easy to either walk to or reach with public transport. There were even a lot of nice places to eat or have a drink in the same road as the hotel, which were always full of people, so that the area felt exciting and full of life. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Milano.

    Solid but not central

    rating03 Jul 2025

After some glitches at the beginning, the hotel addressed our room problem and moved us to a good room with which we were satisfied. The hotel is expanding from its original site to another building so not everything in the new rooms is fully worked out yet. Our original room didn't have a glass shower wall, and the room we were moved to was after complaining facing the square right under a noisy bar. The hotel was not full so it was relatively easy to move us to yet another room, very quiet (facing the side street) and with a normal shower unit. Our concerns were addressed in a timely manner but be aware of these potential problems. The bathroom was a bit pokey, with few surfaces to put things comfortably.Otherwise, this is an ultramodern hotel, souless but efficient, with excellent A/C controlled with a wall-panel and fast reliable Wifi. An added plus is that you have 24-hour access to a fizzy cold water maker and high end coffee-maker on each floor, we made constant use of both. Also each room has a mini-fridge. We generally had breakfast on our floor before setting out for our tourist day.The staff were helpful and courteous, all under 30 and from all over the world, all spoke excellent English.Be aware that the hotel is not in the center of Milan and not near a subway. It is not ideal for a first-time visitor to Milan for that reason, in my opinion. You can't go out in the heat, do stuff, crash at the hotel and then walk to the next thing. The bus system is excellent but still, it is a 20 minute bus ride to the Duomo for instance. It is a quiet, affluent residential area and not within walking distance of any major tourist sites. That being said we liked the neighborhood a lot. There's a nice square in front. My wife discovered many great open-air clothing markets with superb bargains (not something you'd find in Central Milan!) and a terrific restaurant/bar/hang-out eater opposite the Hotel (the Mercato con Cucina but again, be aware, it is not an area brimming with restaurants, although the side street does have three.Overall if you can find it at a competitive price this hotel is fine for seasoned Italian travellers.

Hotel is in very good location, right next to a bus station and 20 minutes walk from down town (and it s a good walk in Main Street). Rooms are very nice, the bathroom just a bit small. They offer free coffee and water in the lobby. You can reach it from anywhere using bus 60.

    Good option

    rating20 Nov 2024

Good option, not very cheap, but in a good location to walk (a lot) to the differents places to know in Milan. It's not very comfortable, there is some things that they have to repair in the bedrooms, but, in general, it have modern accesories. The best part is the cofee and water for the clients.
