Nice hotel, but maybe too warm in summer?

    rating30 Mar 2025

I always try to choose hotels that are a little bit different from the rest, hence this hotel. Extremely happy with location - so close to everything! A nice little boutique hotel with quirky pictures on the wall. Nice room with ok bed, but had to leave the window open as it was 25 degrees in the room when we arrived and no airconditioning. The mirror in the bathroom was weird, couldn’t see clearly in it before getting in real close. Nice touch with extra toiletries in the bathroom in case you forgot your own toothbrush, razor etc. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Only drawback was the room temperature - we were here in the end of march, it must be scorching in summer 🥵

    American sized room and bathroom

    rating27 Dec 2024

The good: The room we're in (303) is American sized as is the firm bed, which is a touch larger than a queen. The bathroom is larger than many American hotel bathrooms and features a tub along with a shower. The front desk is manned 24 hours and the wifi is strong. The location is great for walking to the Last Supper (about 15 minutes), the Opera (4 minutes), and Duomo (5 minutes). The bad: The only quibbles we've had are the hairdryer being a little weak and the hot water isn't as hot as we'd like. Conclusion: This is a great place to stay if you're going to the opera as you don't have to get a ride to get back to your hotel. It is also close to a metro station (Duomo, on the M3 yellow line), though be aware that taking the subway to/from the hotel means dragging bags up many flights of stairs at each end of the metro line.

Unsafe and Stressful Experience – Avoid This Hotel

    rating16 Nov 2024

Our stay at this hotel in Milan was one of the worst we’ve ever experienced. Not only did the property fail to meet basic safety and hygiene standards, but resolving the issues was incredibly stressful and unpleasant. 1. Locked Inside the Hotel: On the first night, we were locked inside the property without any way to exit. This is a serious safety violation, likely illegal under Italian law, and could have been catastrophic in the event of a fire or emergency. Other guests were equally alarmed by this outrageous situation. 2. Contaminated Water: The tap water initially ran red before clearing, indicating gross negligence in maintaining basic amenities and raising health concerns. 3. Unclean Room: We were first assigned a room that had not been cleaned. After complaining, we were moved to another room, but this was a major inconvenience. 4. Unpleasant Smell: The replacement room had a persistent foul odour, making our stay even more uncomfortable.Despite raising these concerns with the hotel, the management was dismissive, disputing our complaints at every stage. While we eventually received a refund for two nights through Booking.com (who were very professional and efficient), this was only after significant effort on our part, adding unnecessary stress to an already miserable experience.Dishonesty: Management even lied to Booking.com, falsely claiming they had offered us a junior suite in another hotel when we raised our complaint. This dishonesty reflects poorly on their approach to guest relations and their overall integrity. We ultimately checked out the evening of the day we arrived because my wife felt unsafe due to being locked inside and the reasonable safety concerns this raised.Recommendation: Avoid this property entirely. Until drastic improvements are made, staying here is not worth the risk or the stress.

I wanted to stay at the hotel for three days but I ended up forfeiting a day because of how depressing it was. 2/10.

    rating18 Aug 2024

Very depressing. The road that leads to the property is lonely. The staff were not welcoming especially the front desk. There was no additional activities slated for customers. No in-dining. Although it was extremely close to the Duomo which is a plus, I guess. Not worth the $$$ Clerici Boutique Front Desk, Servizi per gli ospiti/front office at Clerici Boutique Hotel, responded to this review Dear Mr. Tomosin,Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel, we are sorry you felt like the hotel did not meet your expectation, the hotel is located in a quiet office street just few minutes away from the Duomo, so it might look very quiet after office hours, but that is what makes our hotel extremely quiet, although so close to the Duomo. Our hotel is a small boutique hotel, and we have no kitchen, so we offer only an oriental breakfast and have no luch or dinner, on our website infact there is no mention of afternoon of evening meals, as most our clients being close to the city center prefer to stay out all day exploring the city and leave the Milan city vibes for the evening meals. We are sorry you found our front office to be cold as is usually our strength to help guest explore the town and suggest things to do when needed.Best regardsMarioReception

Potential, but quite a few major problems that need to be addressed.

    rating22 Jun 2024

Really wanted to like this hotel, but my experience was just not great. First of all the location is perfect. 1 minute walk from shopping, the Duomo and La Scala but still on a very quiet, unassuming street. The decor is unique, chic and quirky and the room and bathroom was very spacious. However, like others were saying the interior of the rooms are really dark with very poor lighting. If you want some natural sunlight, you have to open the window and pull back the curtains but they also face offices where everyone can see inside your room. There are only dark velvet curtains no white white back curtains that can provide at least some privacy and sunlight. There are shutters to let some air in and some privacy but then again no sunlight. Then there is the issue with the air conditioning. It was hot and humid in Milan when I was there, but the air conditioning for the room was weak. It wasn’t central air and the unit was again next to the window. The power was extreme weak and management was aware but didn’t improve during our stay. The unit was hidden behind the window curtains. So you either had the curtains open to let what little cooling you can get, but if you wanted privacy you had to close the curtains and cut off any air reaching the rest of the room. They were nice enough to provide a fan to help circulate the air but I was still sweating all night and made sleeping uncomfortable. You could also close the window shutters to allow for air and privacy but bugs starting flying in so that really wasn’t an option either. Also the wifi was pretty much nonexistent at least on the third floor. I addressed this with management and they said would check all the floor for signal strength but no improvement during the stay. Luckily I had my cellular service but warning if you need wifi for your computer, tablet, or you just don’t have cellular service. I hope this place makes some much needed upgrades and design changes because it could be a great boutique hotel.
