Okay for a short overnight stay near Milan transport links

    rating07 May 2026

We stayed one night in a family room. We booked directly through the official Idea Hotels website at a very good rate.We arrived late at night from Milan Malpensa Airport by taxi, as public transport was not available at that time (taxi fare was €115).The reception is open 24/7, and check-in was smooth and efficient. The hotel is quite large, although somewhat dated in appearance. Our family room, which was the largest category, was average in condition, with visible wear such as scratches on the walls, partially detached curtains, and two queen-size beds intended to accommodate four guests. The buffet breakfast was rather basic and underwhelming. The nearest public transport option is San Siro Stadio Metro Station, which can be reached via a free shuttle service taking about 15 minutes. The shuttle operates in the morning and evening; however, the last morning departure is at 11:00 am, with the next service not resuming until 18:45.Overall, we would recommend this hotel mainly for short stays, particularly if you are able to plan your arrival and departure around the shuttle and public transport schedule.

Do not stay if you’re a tourist!!!

    rating13 Apr 2026

Do not stay here if you are a tourist looking to explore Milan. The location is out of the city centre , they provided a free shuttle service to the San siro metro line, however we did rely on public transport throughout our stay. If a football game is on there is no chance of getting a taxi and the walk back from the metro line is an hour through dark and dodgy streets. The breakfast was ok , it looked nothing like the photos we preferred to eat out when we were in the city. The bar is supposed to be open in the evenings but we found that there was never anyone on the bar to serve us. The staff was unhelpful , one woman in the morning who arranged the shuttles was the only nice staff member who helped us. The bedroom was ok , comfy bed and had a mini -fridge which became a lifesaver as the air con did not work throughout the hotel and in our room so we had to open the windows but can be loud due to the main road. Additionally, the room was cleaned daily due to housekeepers which was nice but the bathroom shower had a lot of mould and had a weird smell. There were a lot of children running around in the evenings, reminded us of something like a youth hostel , making so much noise the reception staff did nothing to stop this and let the teenagers run wild. We found the atmosphere to be unwelcoming to us as a tourist couple. Would not say it was a 4 star hotel like it had claimed. Maybe 2 star if being generous, more like a youth hostel with all the kids running wild in the evenings. Would not stay here again!. We recommend any travellers to not book this hotel.

Review of Idea Hotel Milano San Siro

    rating09 Nov 2025

I would not recommend this hotel for a pleasant holiday experience. The photos displayed online appear to be outdated and do not accurately reflect the current condition of the property. In my opinion, the hotel offers very basic accommodations and falls short of expectations — I would rate it one star.Upon arrival, I requested a refund in order to move to another hotel for the night, but unfortunately, this was not granted. The overall standard of the hotel was disappointing, with facilities that felt outdated and poorly maintained. If you're considering booking here, I advise caution. This review reflects my honest experience, and I hope it helps others make an informed decision.
