A really nice hotel. (Many thanks go to bar manager Mario)

    rating14 Apr 2026

This hotel is situated in a superb location. About a 5 minute walk to the Duomo (Cathedral) and Milan’s sights and attractions. The hotel staff are all friendly and professional, and were very helpful in assisting my wife Tracey and I (Mick), from the UK, navigate the city. The rooms are of good size and spotlessly clean. However the bathroom fittings were a little tired with scratches (which were uncomfortable when you used the bath/shower). Daily cleaning and replenishing of items in the room were good, but on occasions the tea and coffee weren't restocked and we had to ask for more. This was rectified immediately by the reception staff. The hotel’s best feature is its 11th floor roof top bar, which has fantastic views of the city. It even has blankets and electric heaters for when temperatures fall. A big thanks has to go to the bar manager Mario who became a friend with his fun, friendly and professional manner, making each visit to the bar a special occasion. The bar serves food but there is no paper menu, they use QR code orders. Tracey and I are unable to use this type of technology but Mario and his staff helped us overcome the issue, lending us their cell phones to read the contents of the menu. We believe that there should be the option of paper menus for anyone, like us, who can't use QR codes.Overall this was a very nice stay, and we have already recommended the hotel to family and friends.

Location only Positive about this place

    rating10 Nov 2025

If you just want location and don’t care about room or facilities this could work. To be fair the room looked as per booking site, I did not realise how old and tired it would be. They are really bad and not worth the money. Also had mosquitos in my room. Receptionist laughed it off and said not possible in November. You can see the pictures when I finally caught some on second day, so have lovely bites to show for my time here. Also asked politely for slightly later check out and pretty abruptly told €95 for another night to check out at 1. They would have to pay me to stay another night here.

    HOTEL SCAM!!!!

    rating01 Oct 2025

HOTEL SCAM!!!!I wanted to share our recent experience with iH Hotels Milano Ambasciatori in Milan, Italy which has left us feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated. We encountered what we can only describe as a complete scam. Our family faced an emergency with the sudden passing of a loved one, and despite giving the hotel 17 days' notice prior to our departure, we received no condolence or understanding from them. Instead, we were met with a cold and impersonal message. To make matters worse, our business colleagues who also stayed at this hotel shared their own dissatisfaction, citing a lack of customer service and exorbitant prices. Given our experience, we strongly advise against staying at this hotel. There are numerous other options available that offer better service at a lower cost. Please save your money and choose a hotel that values its guests and offers genuine hospitality. This was their response:iH Hotels Milano AmbasciatoriGood Morning,we are very sorry for this bad situation. We understand the situation and we can propose to freeze this amount for the nex stay.If you like you can use for the next year within 6 months, based on the availability.Waiting for your prompt reply,Would you stay here after this response?

Location aside, an average experience - which is not commensurate with the prices being charged

    rating19 Sept 2025

This hotel is excellently located a short walk from the Duomo. It is also old and dated, presumably from many years of under-investment.The carpets are like something from a seaside bed and breakfast that has seen much better days, not somewhere charging several hundred pounds a night. We managed to switch our initial pokey room (with hideous decor) when water poured out of the ventilation system. Our second room was much bigger with an attractive print of the Galleria above the twin (for some reason on both occasion) beds but still had awful carpeting. Just by spending some money replacing the carpets, they could transform the stale overall appearance. The Wi-fi was weak for anyone on business. I got by but it was painful.Breakfast was better, I thought, than many of the reviews on here would suggest and the staff were friendly. An average experience - which is not commensurate with the prices being charged, for which you would be entitled, location aside, to expect a lot better

    Great location, poor hotel

    rating30 Aug 2025

The hotel is in a great location to reach Milan’s attractions and lake como but definitely doesn’t live up to the 4 star rating as advertised. When we checked into our room on first impressions the room wasn’t well kept. I expected a dated room however in a 4 star hotel I would expect it to be well kept and clean which wasn’t the case. The bathroom was very dirty and grimy and it also didn’t have a lock instead of being fixed it had been stuffed with tissue paper. The walls were also marked with the wallpaper peeling. I have been in touch with my travel agent about this too as the hotel staff were very dismissive. Another issue we faced was that EU adapters do not work at this hotel. We spoke to reception about this and the condition of the room and they were very dismissive saying that’s the way it is at this hotel. We then had to find a shop to purchase adapters specifically for Italy. It would have been useful to have this information in the booking policy or on the website to arrive prepared as this can be a safety issue not being able to charge devices especially after a long day travelling. The breakfast was very limited with a tiny cooked selection. The main options were cold meats and cheeses which aren’t to everyone’s taste in the mornings therefore found ourselves sticking to croissants.
