Perfect base for Milan and Monza

    rating14 Sept 2025

We stayed at the Oro Blu as a base to explore Milan and go to Monza for the F1. The hotel room was good had what we needed. The bed was very firm and comfortable a great night sleep. Very close to a supermarket and metro station so location was perfect. There isn't really a bar in the hotel but an option for drinks is available plus several places to drink or eat Locally. We were recommended a restaurant down the road called Fabiones (not sure on spelling) but it was fantastic. The best bit about the hotel was the staff. All very helpful and friendly. Especially Matteo who is always there to help. Yes I would stay there again!

    2 Star at best!

    rating31 Oct 2024

After paying £360 for 2 nights, the Hotel being a 4* and booking a Deluxe room, I had high expectations - how wrong I wasDeluxe Room - never been deluxe! Shower hanging off wall in bathroom, towel rails in the way of the toilet, Mini Bar - just 3 bottles of water?! The beds were like bricks, and the pillows no better. Two nights of no sleep isnt good for anyoneThe aircon in the room wasnt on. I did ask at Reception but was told it was turned off throughout the whole of the hotel. The room at its lowest was 26 degrees. The window was locked. Reception said best they could do for me was unlock the window, which as its facing onto the busy duel carriage way wasnt really an option. This was room 308. Once you get out the lift their is a smell of damp stale carpet even though no carpets on the floor. This smell didnt disappear in the room either! I brought a plug in air freshener from the supermarket but even that didnt mask the smell. The doors are just lightweight wooden doors with key locks so offer no noise protections from others on the same floorThis was no better than a hostel and 10x the price

    Similar to a hostel

    rating21 Sept 2023

Stayed here for a conference at MiCo - a 20-minute walk away. I reserved a deluxe double room. The room was barely furnished and felt like a hostel or college dorm room. Some of the light fixtures didn’t work and were loosely attached to the wall. Towel racks were also falling off the wall. Worst, there was a constant drip within the wall that interrupted with restful sleep. Even though my reservation was non-refundable, I ended up switching hotels for the second half of my stay. This hotel was vastly over priced for its quality. Renaz Cattaneo, Direttore generale at Hotel Oro Blu, responded to this review Dear Melissah972,we are sorry that your stay wasn't live up to your expectations. However we don't fully agree with what you wrote. You write that our rooms are barely furnished, when in the pictures you posted it is clearly visible a 190 cm wide bed, a minibar, a wordrobe, a 42 inches television and bed side tables. On top of the minibar I can see a kettle with a wide choice of teas and a Nespresso coffee machine. Now, let's go back to the point where you asked for a refund. The second morning of your stay you came down and asked for a 2 nights of refund because for personal reasons you should leave the hotel. We denied that. After that you emailed us explaining all that you wrote in the review. However, no dripping of water can be heard in your room, towel racks are supposed to stay slightly inclined downward and I promise you, a college dorm doeasn't measure 28 sqm, especially if you look at the pictures that you posted that are even better than the ones we use to advertise ouselves. In this review you state that you had gone to a different hotel. The day you left you checked out at 8:30. What hotel is going to let you check in at that time? To us, it looked you just had a change of plans. One question we'd like to ask you now. Would you mind if we use the pictures you've taken and post it on our websites?

    Wonderful stay

Didn’t have high expectations for this but was pleasantly surprised. The room was small but perfect for one person; spotlessly clean and smelled nice. Direct bus from Malpensa without having to transfer. For the price I really couldn’t have asked for better.

Hotel Oro Blu Milan - very good stay

    rating16 Mar 2023

We (3 couples) stayed in the Hotel Oro Blu, Milan and we were all very happy with this Hotel, it's staff and it's location. We had booked Deluxe Double rooms and these rooms were on the third floor (there is a small lift), were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had room 301 and were abruptly awoken before 7am on the Friday morning, as this is the day the laundry is collected, and the access is just outside this room!Matteo checked us in and he was very efficient and also very helpful with local tourist information. All the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a nice seating area in reception, but unfortunately there is no bar in this hotel. The breakfast was standard continental fare, in a rather small dining area. The food and beverages provided were adequate. The hotel is located just about a 100 metres from an entrance to the Lotto metro station, and we found it easy to travel around Milan, from this location. The San Siro is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. We got 3 day travel tickets, which cost €13 each (for metro, tram & bus) and found these to be great value. We would be happy to return to this hotel, if we visit Milan again.
