    Disappointing Stay: Hotel Palazzo Delle Stelline Falls Short of Expectations

    My stay at Hotel Palazzo Delle Stelline in Milan was incredibly disappointing. Despite being a large property, it was poorly maintained. Contrary to the information provided on Hotels.com, none of the elevators were operational during my visit, which made it extremely challenging to lug a heavy 23kg suitcase up to the third floor. Additionally, each floor seemed unusually high compared to standard floors in other hotels.The kitchen service was also severely lacking. There appeared to be a shortage of staff or food, as guests had to scavenge for coffee cups and wait excessively long for basic breakfast items like scrambled eggs and bread to be replenished.To make matters worse, my request for a housekeeping check on the bidet resulted in a shocking display of poor hygiene. The housekeeper simply inserted her bare hands into the bidet and then proceeded to handle fresh towels without washing them. This blatant disregard for cleanliness left me feeling disgusted and uncomfortable.In conclusion, I strongly advise against staying at Hotel Palazzo Delle Stelline. It is in dire need of attention and renovation. Perhaps a reputable hotelier giant could acquire the property and breathe new life into it. As it stands, it falls far short of basic standards and is not recommended for discerning travelers.

    A decent budget choice

    This hotel is located slightly off to the west of the center, a 20 minute walk to the Duomo. There aren't a ton of restaurants or shops around, but it is close to Cadorno station, where the train from Malpensa terminates. Check-in was friendly and efficient. It's a bit of a walk to the rooms which are in a different 'wing' of the palazzo. The elevator is tiny, only one person is allowed to use it.The room itself was fine, solid three star standard. The small balcony faced the courtyard, which was nice. They have old fashioned, heavy room keys instead of chip cards. The breakfast was basic, but again okay for a three star hotel. Wifi was very slow, however.I don't regret having stayed there but won't go out of my way to stay there again when in Milan.

    Wonderful room with terrace on a perfect spot in a great neighbourhood with extra fine enjoyments of sightseeing not far from the center. Breakfast was a great treat and very vivid environment. Enjoyable with perfect room temperature.

    Excellent location for everything you want to do in Milan. The hotel however needs a serious update. It’s obviously popular for conferences but not good for the traveller.The aircon is only active from 4pm to 9-10 am and is old and inefficient. It was 26 degrees outside and it was very uncomfortable in the rooms.We booked a double bed and got 2 singles pushed together so the beds came part in the nightThe rooms are tired and need a redecoration.The shower was warm at best and again bathroom looks dirty and needs updating.Everything just looks tired and old.The breakfast was included in the prices but not the best.

    A historic hotel

    A beautiful hotel housed in an iconic building with rooms facing the square with a grand magnolia tree. Our room on the third floor was big with a balcony. Toiletries are adequate and replenished daily along with tea/coffee sachets. Housekeeping is daily. The restaurant on the first floor served a sumptuous breakfast. The reception staff help arrange for transportation on request. Proximity to the important St Mary Basilica Cathedral and the museum with the mural of the Last Supper makes this hotel the ideal place to stay when in Milan.
