  They overcharged me 137 euros and refused to refund it. Check your receipt carefully (if you still decide to stay there)

  The hotel overcharged me 137 euros when I checked in and refused to refund it. I had just come from a long international flight and was exhausted when I checked in. My bill from Expedia/Cheaptickets said to pay 440 euros at check in (which included the city tax). I showed my printed invoice to the guy at the counter but he didn’t seem interested.Instead he charged me 577 euros. When I asked about the price difference he said it was the city tax. I pointed to my invoice from Expedia saying it’s already included…then he said “Uh…it’s a special extra tax.” I was exhausted from the flight and just wanted to get to my room so I reluctantly paid it.When I checked out I got a paper receipt and only after looking at it closely at the airport did I realize he just ignored the Expedia price completely and charged me a lot more each night for my room…it wasn’t a tax issue. They just lied to me. Also, it seems they charged me for my “Free continental breakfast” as well.It’s basically a glorified hostel for backpackers and any positive online reviews very well could have been written by the staff or the owner of the hotel.Also, be warned that you have to leave your key with the one staff person working there when you go out. Multiple times when I came back, there was literally no one working at the reception desk. I walked around looking for someone, yelled for help, etc.….nothing. When this happened, I had to reach over the counter and grab my own key, which was just hanging on a hook completely unguarded. Basically, anyone could walk in, grab a random key, and go unlock the room if they wanted to. It’s dodgy to say the least.The ladies who took care of the breakfast and the cleaning were great though. They were always nice and were the only thing about the place that made it feel like a real “hotel”.I contacted Expedia about the hotel overcharging me and sent them photos of the receipts. They seemed to agree it was a clear-cut case. Then they emailed me saying they contacted the hotel and that they refused to refund the money they stole from me. So, basically, Expedia said they aren’t going to do anything else about it….so they seem okay with hotels booked from their site not respecting the prices the site gives you. Good to know.You’re probably better off staying at a less shady hotel and paying a little more for it. I was suspicious at how cheap Vecchia seemed…it should have been a red flag. Be careful.

  This hotel was absolutely perfect for me. It is in a fantastic location, within walking distance to all Milan has to offer. The hotel itself is run by lovely people. From the moment I arrived I felt so welcomed. Check in and out was so easy, they were incredibly accommodating when I arrived earlier than check in time and held my bags for me at no extra cost after I checked out. The room had everything I needed, the bed was comfortable, everything was really clean, with fresh toiletries and towels every day. I was not expecting the beautiful floor to ceiling shuttered windows that opened out to such a cute view. The breakfast was lovely and staff were so friendly. I never had a problem with any noise and cannot fault a thing. I will definitely be back.

  Good, quiet lodging right in the middle of the most major sites. Halfway between the Last Supper & the Duomo Cathedral. Good breakfast, walkable community, friendly and helpful staff, not hard to find when coming in from the airport cold turkey.

  Centrally located hotel. Rustic and cosy. Being in Milano in August during a particularly warm week, it was a relieve that the room had excellent air conditioning. It was very comfy to sleep at. Clean bathroom with shower, bidet and some complimentary toiletries. Spacious room with comfy bed. Small and simple breakfast but enough to give you a good start to the day. Recommended!

  Great location, great staff and cleanliness on top. The breakfast was really assorted and the service very nice. The room for three was like a suite with two separated rooms. One double bed and one single. It is 7min from Duomo and three minutes from Starbucks Reserve
