We are delighted to know that you enjoyed the service, found our staff to be lovely, appreciated the room design, and made the most of our pool area.We are, however, very sorry that the mixed grill at lunch did not fully meet your expectations. Your comments have been shared with our kitchen team to ensure we improve on this aspect. We truly value your feedback and are pleased that, overall, your experience was very positive. Mixed opinions - service and communication poor

    rating24 Aug 2025

We booked two superior double rooms directly with the hotel, for four nights as part of our tour around Tuscany. I communicated with the hotel beforehand to ask the room our teenagers were staying in be set up as a twin. When we arrived the twin room was of significantly better standard and size than our double superior room - we paid the same price for each room. Welcome treats had been left in the twin including a bottle of alcohol, the complimentary water which was part of the booking and fully stocked toiletries. These were all missing from the second double room we booked. I queried this twice with reception with no solution from the receptionist. The water in our room we had to ask for everyday and the hotel tried to charge for it on checkout, even though we should have two bottles in each room complimentary every day. The toiletries were still missing for all stay in our room. I then tried to send an email during the stay to ask why the rooms were so different. This was not responded to until two days after we had checked out. It turns out that our children’s room had been upgraded to a junior suite and this had not been communicated with us in check in. While We appreciate the upgrade and had we been told during our stay, it would have avoided any confusion or need to complain when we’re trying to relax! My issue here is the poor communication from reception staff and management. This was then reflected in the attitude of staff who really didn’t seem to want to go out of their way to do anything- this was opposite to our experience in other Italian hotels. I also think a little thought about which room you set up as the double and twin as really you want to upgrade the parents and bill payer rather than teenagers who are not bothered either way. The hotel knew we were a family as I communicated with them before our stay so should have thought about this.I would avoid the restaurant and lunch by the pool as they are over priced for the quality- especially the lunch. The air conditioning was awful which meant we didn’t sleep well it was so hot in the rooms. Balconies on the room are so small not sure it’s was worth it Positives: Pool bar staff were the exception to the staff and worked hard all day in the heat, serving drinks and food, making sure people had sunbeds; the pool was quiet and relaxing with gorgeous views over the mountains. It was easy to get sunbeds. Breakfast was a good selection- typically what you’d expect but nothing special for a 5 star. It’s close to the funicular and Monticatini Alto which is beautiful. Not sure I’d rate this a five star hotel for the lack of service and the attention to detail was simply missing. Esther Enna, Direttore generale at LHP Hotel Montecatini Palace & Spa, responded to this review Dear Mrs. Rebecca,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I am truly sorry to learn that certain aspects of your experience, particularly with Room 401, did not fully meet your expectations. Please allow me to clarify: while both of your rooms were reserved under the Superior category, layouts and amenities can vary slightly within this category. During your stay, we were pleased to offer you a complimentary upgrade to Room 403, a Junior Suite, for four nights. This category provides additional space, enhanced amenities, and is typically offered at a higher rate than the Superior rooms you reserved.Room 401, by comparison, is a Superior Room and therefore smaller in size, with some variations in presentation and setup. I regret that these differences were not explained more clearly during your stay, and I sincerely apologize for any resulting disappointment.Regarding your restaurant experience, we are reviewing the billing from your final evening to ensure the 10% discount included in your booking package was correctly applied. Should we find any discrepancy, the difference will of course be refunded promptly. Please rest assured that your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as it helps us to improve our services and ensure that future experiences are as seamless and enjoyable as possible. Should you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.Kind regards,Esther Enna General Manager LHP Hotels

    Surreal and Bizarre

    rating16 Jul 2025

This hotel is genuinely a lovely hotel and like all of the others in town, it trades and does good business on Montecatini being a spa town; which it obviously isn’t in 2025. The hotel has a spa in it, like many hotels, but we came to this town to enjoy what its name suggests: Montecatini’s Thermes. Nobody, not even A.I. seems to mention the obvious fact that they’re gone! Closed and boarded up so they are. Imagine Pisa if the tower fell over and was bulldozed away! Why would anyone go? We had no complaints at all with this hotel but honestly, the Italians need to change the road signs and the map and call this place just Montecatini. Esther Enna, Direttore generale at LHP Hotel Montecatini Palace & Spa, responded to this review Dear Mr. Martin, Many thanks for sharing your review about Montecatini Terme and for your short and lovely declarations about our hotel. Reading your review you confirm our hotel was genuinely a lovely hotel but most of your review is about Montecatini Terme that did not macht your expectation.Sorry but allowed me to say you are writting in a wrong account, you are supose to spend your review about your experience in our hotel and our services our staff our rooms. You have all the right to share your opionin about a place, like we all do after a trip, but this account is about our Hotel Montecatini Palace Hotel. Montecatini Terme is part of Unesco, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and I suggest you to contact them to share your idea about Montecatini Terme and why has been choosen has one of the Thermal city in Europe, I think they will be able to give you all the information you may need. Montecatini terme is a renowned thermal city celebrated for its healing mineral waters and histori. City of Montecatini Terme could be not nice for all our visitors but this a personal opinion posted in a wrong account. All the best, Esther Enna General Manager

    Excellent hotel with exceptional staff

    rating23 Jun 2025

The hotel is one if the nicest we have stayed at in Italy. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. The staff are very helpful and efficient. We had to leave a day earlier than planned due to a country wide strike meaning our flight home was cancelled. The reception team went out of their way to assist us with our plans changing. A special thanks to Esta Enna General Manager who arranged a taxi and a refund of our bill for the day we had lost due to leaving early. We received a credit note so we can return to this lovely hotel which we are looking forward to doing. Would higjly reccomend this hotel as a must do visit.Raymond Turnbull Esther Enna, Direttore generale at LHP Hotel Montecatini Palace & Spa, responded to this review Dear Raymond, thank you for your wonderful review. We are thrilled to hear that you found our hotel to be one of the nicest you have stayed at in Italy. Do not stay here

    rating19 May 2025

They advertise as 5 star hotel yet upon arrival we were supposed to get a bottle of wine and fruit basket,The bottle was a half size and we never got the fruit basket. The robes in the rooms have holes in them, The roof is patched up. They only allow you 2 coffee pods (that brew only espresso size) per room, even when you ask for more they said they couldn’t as that would be an additional charge. The decor is all white and black, shinny and feels cold and unwelcoming. Would not recommend The hotel definitely not, and for the town spend your time wiser in Italy in places like Florence or Venice. Esther Enna, Direttore generale at LHP Hotel Montecatini Palace & Spa, responded to this review Dear Resi45,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We apologize for any inconvenience occured during your recent stay. We care about all our guest and is a real pity you did not mention any problems during your stay with us, we missed the opportunity to make better your stay with us.We will address this issue with our team to ensure this does not happen in the future.
